    disappointment

Disappointment. Cold night but no protection from icy blasts from front door. Onion soup good, but portobello mushroom awful. Main courses greasy. Lamb chops ordered medium arrived rare. Cappuccino tepid. The chairs are uncomfortable.

    Will definitely be back!

Ate there today as part of a Groupon now deal. Very happy with the food, the salmon quiche was excellent! The pot de creme au chocolat----will have to go back just for that. Service was a little sporadic but it was Saturday brunch and crowded, when I was attended to they were very nice. Would definitely go back even without the discount.

    Best brunch ever!

Best brunch in the city! $15 bottomless mimosas? What more can you ask for? Staff was friendly, dj was playing great tunez. Good looking guys ;) They even had an open sky roof!! Best special in the LES. I will definitely be going back.

    such a great sunshine spot

I can predict this place is going to be jam packed with the good weather around the corner; they just re opened their lunch and I tried their steak sandwich with fries and a cucumber salad; it was truly a hit; They also have a happy hour that starts at 2pm so I enjoyed my monday afternoon beers with my industry crew. The place has the fabulous skylight that opens on good days like today; we were litterally wearing sunglasses at the bar, what a good time. the bartender/ owner is real cool; thumbs up, he looks like lenny kravitz...

    keep walking

I guess the chef was fired or moved onto a restaurant deserving of his culinary talents...because he was not in the kitchen tonight. During the summer, we fell upon this place and were so impressed with the originality and extraordinary flavors we experienced. We looked forward to returning....unfortunately we did this evening.....it was not good!! The waitress was abrupt....the food was tasteless and it was in no means remotely similar to our first experience. The tomato soup was a bowl of liquified marinara sauce....the salad had two tiny particles of cheese and the dressing was out of Wish Bone bottle.....The mussels were uninspiring with no identifiable flavor and the vegetables were horrible....better veggies at a diner on 3rd Avenue.....the server forgot one of the items we ordered and with no surprise.....running through the dining room frenetically.....what a disappointment.....Lina Frey had so much promise at the beginning....don't waste your time.

    Great Food and Good Value

Food was excellent. We ordered lamp chop, hanger steak, goat cheese with beets, string beans (harivot vert), brussel sprouts, and mushrooms. The green vegatables had an wonderful garlic grilled flavor. The meats were also flavorful. We also found some of the by the glass wines quite fine (I ordered the 4 glass tasting menu). The portions of wine were generous and the food was excellent given the price. Unfortunately it took 2 1/2 hours to be served what I've described. We had a good time althought the room was quite noisy. We would go back despite the wait.

    Great addition to the area!

I live close by and walked by Lina Frey many times before I eventually had dinner there one night. And boy I am SOO glad I finally tried it out! The atmosphere is such a nice combination of chic and sexy, but still comfortable. And all of the food we had was delicious---I got the tomato fennel soup, frisee salad and a side of sauteed green beans and it was all amazingly scrumptious. My boyfriend got the sauteed salmon and the roasted potatoes and he loved his meal too. And they also have really reasonably priced bottles of wine.We split a bottle of rose that we found very enjoyable. I will definitely be back and continue to support this great new restaurant.
