Whenever I try a new chinese takeout, I get the most basic dishes to test them out. I ordered chicken and broccoli and fried shrimp dumplings and they were very competent standard american-style chinese take out. For me, this is a compliment. It's surprising how so many places aren't. The chicken and broccoli was a little too watery/gravy-ey for my taste, but the shrimp dumplings had shitake mushrooms and water chestnuts. This was a pleasant surprise. Ultimately, good deal, good food, and fast delivery at around 7pm.

I order from here all the time! This is the best place for Asian downtown, and I just love that they have both Japanese and Chinese. Fast delivery, pretty cheap, and always good!

You won't find "authentic" Chinese cuisine here. You won't find that in these type of fast food joints. BUT, they do a really good job of supplying Americanized Chinese cuisine that have been altered to non Asian palettes. I've never dined in but have always had positive experiences when I take out or place a delivery order.

I don't reccommend this place, but it is definitely possible to roll the dice and have a good experience. The food is good, when they get your order correct. I work very close by and have dined there enough times to know that the Lily's experience is hit or miss. B or B+ food is all too often offset by waiters who suddenly forget English when you inform them they gave you something you didn't order or when your dish still hasn't arrived after a very long wait. One constant is that when you go in a group, one of you will have a bad time. They don't serve everyone's food at once, so some of you will be finishing up while others are still waiting. This has happened every single time I have been there with a group (like I said, I work close by I go because the group wants to).

the atmosphere isn't anything special, the service is quite tolerable bordering on pleasant and the food is rather mediocre. Overall I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, it's a convenient place to eat if you live in the Battery Park or Tribeca area but other than that there are few positive things I can say about Lily's.

it took an hour to get to me... and the food was sitting in way 2 much sauce. they forgot my soda and it was overall not very good.... however... there was a ton of food for very little money...

Finally, authentic Chinese Food with fresh vegetables and not one bit greasy. We always had leftovers from other places, now everything we order is completely finished. A definite must try! Very quick delivery and steaming hot to boot.
