    Wood Oven Roasted Chicken

The wood oven roasted chicken one of the best dishes I've ever had. Absolutely delish! Great atmosphere, good music. I love the little outdoor garden in the back. Great place for a date, and for a tasty meal.

    Great Place!

I thought every part of this place was great. The atmosphere had rustic charm. The staff wasn't pushy and let us enjoy a leisurely early Sunday dinner, but was still attentive. The food I thought was amazing. I had one of the pizza sandwiches, and the quality and taste was excellent. Also, the bread served in the beginning of the meal and the olive oil was superb. I'm just sorry that I didn't get to see other parts of the place, including the backyard garden, since we decided to eat near the front in the bar area. I highly recommend it.

    Anonymous Below is Wrong

Lil Frankies is, without argument, the best pizza in the East Village. There is no debate, if you don't like Lil Frankies, you have no palate at all. The sauce is tangy and wonderful and, while the service is slow, it has more to do with the massive amount of business they are doing than their competence.

    Disappointing

It's not a bad place for a first date, mostly because of the location. Cute atmosphere. But when it comes down to the food I worry about what the other reviewers eat on a regular basis. Because this is NOT great pizza by any standard. They do a reasonably good thin crust but the sauce is bland and some of the ingredients are sub-par (like the mushrooms for example). The service is hurried. The delivery on the other hand is slow. And out the the 3 times I ordered in from there they got my order wrong every time. It's overrated and I no longer bother with it.

    Excellent pizza!

If you like napoli style pizza, thin with fresh mozzeralla this is the place to go, its not super cheap but for 10 bucks you get a pizza for yourself, one of the best in NYC at least for someone that has been to a bunch of Pizza places in Italy, if you like doughy, thick, bad quailty ingredients go someplace else.. everything is made of fresh great quality ingredients, like in Italy or spain of somewhere else that does that most of the time.

    Good Hang Out Place

I went here on a thursday night with a friend. I don't rememeber anything I ordered besides my entree and her pizza. The pizza was decent. I had a special whcih was a goat chesse ravioli. I doubt it was homemade. The cheese was low grade and it's about par with what you can get at a wholesale club's frozen section, which by any means is not horrible, but at a restaurant i would expect something better. Typical village spot where you can eat from the table next to you because of the jammed in seating. Service is typical village service where the waiter is not paying attention or has no idea what you are saying to him/her. The experience was not horrible, but I would not go back. I had to try it because I always pass by to the F train.

    Not like Italy

Lil Franks has mediocre Italian food with abrasive music and nonchalant service. The pasta was overcooked and the sauce too salty while the pizza was was just above fast food fare.
