    Disappointment

To start we had the calamari, which was good and nice size portion. Had the risotto frutti di mare. It had pieces of shrimp shell in it and was completely bland. I tried to doctor it up with pepper, salt and parm but to no avail. For $18 I felt it was not a good value. I didn't finish it. I should have sent it back, but it we were told we'd have to leave the table in 30 mins, as it was reserved for someone else. It was either eat it or don't eat at all. Boyfriend had the tagliolini special and it looked like a starter portion, it was teeny tiny, though very tasty. But we were stunned when we found out it came with a $20 price tag. To drink I had a cocktail described as "vodka, lemon, etc" I figured the etc meant that it had additional ingredients. It didn't. I had to send it back to the bar for some simple syrup. Also had the basil mojito which was excellent. Our party of 5 was seated at a table for 4, next to the kitchen. I was sat so close that waiters had to squeeze behind me to pick up plates. It was uncomfortable. With tax and tip, we shelled out $110 (for my bf and I) for a meal that was mostly unsatisfying. We bought a bag of chips on the way home. Won't be back.

    Downhill

This was one of my fave places to go in the East Village. We had them cater our housewarming party 3 years ago which was amazing. Tonight, we sat for 15 minutes before the waiter ever came over. Took 2 other tables' orders who sat down after us. Then all the food was soooo rushed it was ridiculous. Didn't finish salad halfway when entrees arrived. Their amazing little meatballs (which we got on the pizza this time) were extremely spicy, which was a change. The lemon pasta was very tasty but slightly overcooked. The din was a bit much, don't remember it being that loud. When asked if we wanted dessert (plates cleared 3 seconds before that) I said no and when he came back he basically threw me the check turning to the other table. It was by far the most disappointing meal I've had there and have been there many times. Clean it back up people!

    A+

Aside from the wait time, everything was exactly perfect. Whipped ricotta. The mussels were delish and then when we got far enough down in the bowl we realized that there was a sopping piece of bread down there. That was one of the most thoughtful things the chef could have done at that moment. The pizza with prosciutto and truffle oil was more of a panini than a pizza, and it was also pretty amazing. The pastas were tasty too, lets not forget about those. Also, the wonderfully wonderful pinot noir helped us forget that we ever waited for the table to begin with.

Love dining in but delivery isn't good

This place has great food and love to eat in, but ordering delivery is terrible Teeny tiny portions are a total ripoff and make you feel like a chump. We ordered a Frankie's salad - it arrived in a tiny plastic box with two green beans, two pieces of broccoli, and two tiny slivers of beet. What a rip!

    Consistently Good Food

I frequent this neighborhood spot quite often and it is always delicious! Amazing homemade pasta dishes, crisp and flavorful pizzas and good friendly service. I can always count on a great and satisfying meal when I come to Lil' Frankies.

    Gone Downhill

We got the quattro fromagio and salami picanti pies this week, after about a year and a 1/2 since we last ordered form here. The flavors and textures of the pies have both slipped badly. The pies just seem bland and greasy now, where they were crispy with popping flavors before. Very disappointing. Turn off the EV Radio and focus on your Pizza!

    Delivery

We got delivery from here tonight. The man on the phone was very helpful and the delivery was prompt. The food was delicious and warm (unlike what another reviewer wrote). We would definitely order from here again!
