    The food is wonderful

This restaurant has the most wonderful tasting food outside of Chinatown. You do not come here though to order standard "chicken with broccoli" and "sesame chicken".. This isn't that type of place. The menu is varied and different. I have been here numerous times and have currently counted 28 dishes that i really love. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly- The one (and only one) area that needs improvement is the decor- the place needs 'updating'. But the food, the service, the background asian music, the view--- all couldn't be better!

    Just so-so

Liberty View has a lot going for them, they just don't have it all wrapped up yet. Sitting outside on their patio by the water is the best feature, but there is so much potential. It was my first time there recently and I had been looking forward to it. The food was high priced and just okay. I ordered Sesame Chicken dish and the broccoli was cold. They have much stepping up to do in atmosphere, service and FOOD before charging the high prices they are currently.

We got a meal filled with bones!!

After eating many yummy meals here, we were very disapointed recently. We ordered 15 minutes before close on a Sunday evening and ended up with an appetizer that was cold when it was supposed to be hot and an entree of chicken basil filled only with bones, sauce and minimal meat. We are sad to see this once good restaurant go downhill and will not be ordering here again.

    Too greasy

On a frequent basis, I would order from here. Their food was excellent and quickly lowered in quality. The food became less tasty and greasier. If you want to drink your food, order from here.

Its back and its better than ever!

Was there a few months ago, and while the food was its usual terrific, the service was horrible- Obviously they have changed that cause the current waitstaff of 3 gentlemen couldn't be more attentive, polite, and helpful!.. I just love this place- the food is authentic, varied, and very reasonably priced. It is definitely not your "usual" chinese food-The setting is quite perfect, the view is not to be matched anywhere else- Definitely the best restaurant in Battery Park City (very slim choices there), but also one of the best in the City overall!

    amazing, my fav chinese restaurant!

this restaurant has been a favorite of mine for the last 2 years I have lived in the area, I have brought clients for dinner, family, and had many celebration at Liberty View. The food is fantastic!!! They even have an authentic Catonese menu that my Asian friends swear by...the location is great as well, nice for a romantic evening by the water when the weather is nice and overall always has been a pleasant experience!!! My recommendations include the Juicy Buns, Peking Duck, scallion pancakes, and pan fried noodles....

    The service has dropped considerably

Have been to this pleasant Chinese restaurant many times. Recentlly however there is a noticable drop in service. We waited almost an hour for dumplings on a relatively quiet Sunday afternoon-then i noticed that people seated after us were eating their main courses--I think our waiter just forgot us- Then the food came out and it wasn't quite what we ordered (pan fried dumplings but we got steamed, etc).. All the food was its usual fantastic-- the food IS wonderful. But unfortunately the service has fallen considerably-its a pity, it is (or should i say WAS) such a great place to bring guests. Probably won't be running back (from someone who used to go there quite often)
