Food is ok in the restaurant, but meat is almost inedible when delivered. Got delivery several times with same disappointing results.

Its a neighborhood spot so the steak is not lugar's or wolfgang's but it is really good. Appetizers, drinks, sides...its all good. I have not had something i did not like. The only downside is the price. It is a little pricey for the "restaurant on the corner". If it was a little cheaper it would be hands down my favorite spot in the city. As is, it is pretty close.

All I can say is luv the food! Very tasty! The meats are delish. Cooked the way you want it. And most of all - - tasty. Compared to all the known steakhouses, Libertador's steaks are delish with flavor! I do hope service improves though; the servers are slow and I feel like I have to repeat myself a few times when I'm giving them my order. I do totally recommend Libertador!

I am surprised by some of the reviews I read... My wife and I have been here several times and while always busy we have never waited long for a table. We love sitting by the grill and watching the food prep. The food is always cooked to order and comes out tasting amazing. Overall this is one of the nicer places for a good night out on the UES.

You've gotta be sh*ttin me. Went in Saturday night with my wife. Got a table. 2 minutes later the waitress comes by and asks "are you ready?". I told her we hadn't even ordered a drink yet much less looked at the menu. We give her the drink order and she walks away. A minute later she returns and asks us again, "are you ready?". I say fine, and order the steak for two which comes with salads. Not 2 minutes later the steak comes out on a hot plate, they plunk it down on the table, then bring out the salads and sides. So we were sitting for roughly 6 minutes, had no drinks, and our main course was served!! I called the waitress over to figure out what was going on. She told me this dish comes quick. I asked for the manager who after 10 minutes decided to come to the table. I explained to her that this was ridiculous, and that this was completely unacceptable for a "fine dining" restaurant. Guess what she told me? "This dish comes fast." Like I should know that!! How about you wait to put the order in then!? She gives me total attitude and condescendingly says "what would you like me to do? I will take it back to the kitchen and you tell me when you're ready for it to be brought back." I said "How about this...keep the food, we're leaving." Worst service I've ever had in all of my years dining in NYC. The place is a joke.

Husband and I and 2-year-old met with a visiting friend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Empanadas were great (son loved the ham and cheese and adults loved the black bean, the one with onions and cheese and the beef. Skirt steak was super flavorful and cooked as ordered (little fatty) Chicken roulade was outstanding as were the caramel crepes. Drinks were nice pours and service was so friendly (5:30 on a Sunday) You pay for the experience but what a treat it was! look forward to the next time!

The mussels were great! So, we were really looking forward to the rest of the meal. The pear/arugula salad had no dressing, but once we requested it, it was quite good. The meat was overcooked and tasteless. My fiance was so puzzled he was convinced that they had fed us leftovers from a different night. Also they stole our mussels from us mid-meal. The mashed potatoes were sooo good. We packed what was left partially because our entree was sooo expensive (nearly $50), although maybe it was that we were tired and not thinking. Today when we checked it, it just seemed too strange. They had squished everything including the side salad into a container that could barely contain it...
