I found libation through menupages and wasnt sure what to expect- seemed like a good place. so i went out to get some dinner and drinks and when we got there we werent waited on at all we had to go looking for the hostess/ host. finally we find out that there are no tables in the actual resturaunt just a few tables by the door that was kind of secluded so me and my freind were annoyed by this but the staff made sure to make it up to us by catering with our first drinks on the house. our waitress was adorable and the food was great although not warm enough. the vibe and the ambiance was great and the prices were good. i will most definately be going back.

I don't understand why anyone would come to the lower east side and then go to this kind of bar... everything is shiny and slick and expensive, and the crowd is mostly loud frat boys in striped dress shirts and greasy eurotrash with shiny necklaces. HOWEVER, the sunday brunch is fantastic. All the fratboys/eurotrash are safely back in new jersey or long island or wherever they come from, so it's easy to get table even when all the other restaurants in the neighborhood have hour-long waits. The food is delicious, the bloody marys are perfect, and a meal with three cocktails is only $14. The waitstaff is also adorable and attentive, and if you ask nicely they will turn off the giant plasma screen tv's.

I went to Libation with a group this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised with how good everything was. They have a new menu and the food was exceptional. The service was good and friendly. I will be back.

I went to Libation for a dinner with several friends. The space was very beautiful, a bit more "uptown" than other bars in the neighborhood - but nice. The tapas on the menu sounded wonderful - the only problem - it was not good. The empanadas were like a cheap hot-pocket, the tuna tartare was inedible, and the others I was with were also dissatisfied with their dishes. We ended up getting a crepe next door afterwards.

Though different from its surrounding bars, Libation adds variety and class to the neighborhood. From their unique cocktails to the upscale tapas menu, your dining/partying experience will not be disappointing.
