I've been to L'Express several times, but this time, I've had it with the service. In the past, I overlooked the SLOW service. Today, after having called our waitress over to our table, she was obnoxious to me in front of my business contacts. I asked for a description of a breakfast dish (egg florentine or some fancy name), and the waitress said, "You don't know what egg florentine is? You mean you don't know?" No, I didn't learn about florentine in school; I'm not a cook. My guests said she was rude. Granted, this is New York, but a waitress should serve a purpose other than embarrassing and offending others.

This is an awesome place to go in the morning for coffee, breakfast, or brunch. Great food and open 24 hours. Super atmosphere, a lot of fun!

I love L'Express for several reasons: 1) open 24 hours and it's - gasp - not a crappy diner 2) homemade pate 3) has several good, affordable champagnes by the glass 4) un-snobby, fun atmosphere 5) feels more authentic than some of the more upscale french places in the city

My best friend and I always go here for great food. Sure, it's a little crowded, always a good sign, and it may be a little pricey for some, but we always go back. I love the low lighting and great bar.

Le burger and le zoup---c'est parfait! Stay away from the steak tartare if you value the rest of your evening.

Totally not worth it. Food was not good especially with the price you have to pay. Too loud and the service there was appalling. It made me want leave no tip.

Decent food. I prefer to eat here late night after going out.
