This place is crazy good. Never had a bad thing here. Only thing I'll say is it's super expensive for what you get. It's good and I'll go back, but it's very pricey.

these are some tasty cookies. At $4 a pop (with only 4 types of cookie available) they better be. the line might be out the door but they move fast but once you get that first savory bite in your mouth its all worth it. I live on the east side and I make the trek to the UWS once in a while so i can get one of these tasty treats. the cookies are HUGE so its easy to share. and if you dont eat your cookie right away and it gets cold, its still yummy after nuking it in the microwave. definitely have to try at least once. it might seem like a simple cookie, but there so many bad cookies (aka the cement cookie) out there thats it nice to know someone can do it right!

cookies are always fresh and warm, and gooey the best experience is if you eat them right there. Once they are cold and ungooey, they are just OK. But at almost $4.00 a pop they are not cheap either.

I totally agree about these cookies being the best in the world! These are spectacular and the early review of them not being special and easily made at home is untrue. If so, then every bakery in NYC would be this good and perhaps only the other Levain in East Hampton holds that distinction. (East Hampton is NYC to most people.) If you are going to eat these on a regular basis, then you must walk to Levain and back, at least you will have worked for this cookie-the value of a 20 carat diamond!

Just moved from the east to the west side and found this place. OMG! I have to put myself on a one-a-month limit because I would eat one every day if I could.

I took a trip uptown on the C just to try the walnut chocolate chip cookies at Levain and I have to say they are definitely tasty. However. Honestly, they are special because of their size. They are mounds of warm cookie dough all piled up. You could make these at home. They are not necessarily "special." They are good, no doubt, but there is nothing transcendental in the eating experience. In addition, if you are not a fan of raw cookie dough mouth-feel, you're not really going to enjoy these. These are a basic buttery chocolate chip cookie dough recipe, and that's it. If you're in the area, pick one up, but don't expect the heavens to open and shine a light on you as you chew. If I find myself nearby again I will try some of their other products. The service is very friendly. Bottom line: Good cookie, that's all, nothing you can't (easily) do yourself in your own kitchen.

I was in the area yesterday.Since it was rainy, i decided to go into Levain.I had heard about it but never thought it was so small of a local. Small little place but Big in flavor, all i can say is the double chocolate peanut butter cookie was DELICIOUS!! Will go back to have another and also to try something else. All in all great cookie!
