I don't really understand the previous reviews as we found this place lived up to the hype. The second best steak I've had (the best being The White House in the The Lake District, UK but that's another tale) and great fries. My dining partners found their starters to be great - the onion soup WAS hot, take note - and service was prompt and friendly, and you were really made welcome. The atmosphere was okay, but it was a lazy Sunday afternoon. Fantastic food, reasonably priced, in a nice unsnobbish environment.

This restaurant is not only SOOOO reasonable, but the food is outstanding, and the service is great. Since eating there, I have sent friends and family to enjoy a meal there, and they have all reported back with beaming reviews.

Good atmosphere, able to sit next to open doors and people watch. Most patrons seemed to be business class lunch goers. We enjoyed the shrimp wrapped with serrano ham served on bed of black olive tapanade. We also split the salad, steak and frites. The steak had an excellent flavor and the fries were as good as I have had. Also had a great wine and drink list.

Ate there the night after dining at The London by Gordon Ramsay. Quite obviousley a completely different atmosphere and boy was it welcomed. The food was superb and very good value for money. The service was good despite the fact they were very busy. The tables are very close to each other, but I didn't mind as we were seated next to a very friendly couple from Canada. I would recommend the Creme Brulee for dessert as it was huge and very tasty. Atmosphere was great ,pretty loud and dark and very unpretentious. Eat there, it's fun and good value ! If I ever go back to New york I will definately make an effort to go there at all costs.

I have eaten here several times and the food is always very good. I highly recommend the hanger steak and make sure to save room for the Crème Brulée. Over all the service is good, but we had one experience where our waiter flat out ignored us for a majority of the night. The manager ended up stepping in and made up for our poor service. I would strongly recommed to anyone looking for a great meal.

Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Made reservations, but had to wait 15 minutes to get seated, and the bar was too crowded to sit and wait. However, it was a Friday night so a long wait was almost expected. The atmosphere is great - very unpretentious, young crowd, and lively. I thought that the tables in our section were too close to each other, though. Ordered the grilled calamari to start - flavor was great, though I thought the portion could have been more generous. For an entree, had the Confit de Canard. OMG this was the best duck I have ever had in my life. The meat fell right of the bone, the flavor was superb and the leg was huge! The salad with truffled potatoes that came with it was also wonderful. I was stuffed! My friend ordered the Gratin de Macaroni with jamon serrano which I tried and loved. It had A LOT of delicious gruyere cheese, but my friend was pretty cheesed-out after this meal. We shared a chocolate souffle for dessert which was very rich and I enjoyed it because it was not too sweet. I would definitely recommend this place it you're looking for a nice, enjoyable meal.
