    Not worth it

We had lunch recently (during the summer 2010 restaurant week). We were a party of four. Three of us ordered a la carte and one from the restaurant week menu. The meat in all of the entres, for instance, was overdone. The flavor is not satisfying. I understand they are trying for the old classics but they are just not good at cooking them. Presentation is non-existant. The restaurant week menu portions are miniscule and suffer from the same affliction as the others - the execution is just not up to snuff... and they were out of the two desserts we were interested in - ice creams and porfitoroles.

    Delightful

My daughter and I shared Sunday brunch last week at a table outside. We each had a prix fixe entree-one -mushroom omlette and one seafood crepe, accompanied by a spicy bloody marys. The frites that came with the omlette were crisp and well seasoned and just plain great. The table was tight and the service was unremarkable but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and being on the street on a beautiful Sunday in NYC.

    poor service

Decent food and it's good value for money but the service is poor and there always seems to be something not working - this time it was the air conditioning, last time it was the credit card machine. There's no shortage of better places in Manhattan.

    not very happy

Had to wait in the bar for 20 minutes, even though we had a reservation. Onion soup was exellent!! Steak was overdone, asked for medium, got well done. House red wine was not good at all. Tables for 2 persons was actually a table for 20 or so, no privacy att all in this restaurant. This is not a place for romantic dinner. Very noisy place, but the waiter was nice.

    Worth a shot

The service was nothing to write home about but the scallops were good and the foie gras was phenomenal! Can ya screw up foie gras?

Not much more than a diner!

Such a poor restaurant experience I have not had in a long time. The reception was uninviting "Wait at the bar for the rest of your party" - Had to ask for them to take coats -- Waiter was a 'ditz'-- had to wait forever for everything...food was dropped on table as if it were McDonald's. Definitely sloppy service - uninterested. Didn't even mind the din because I didn't have to listen to the rest of my party groan and complain!
