great food, great atmosphere, def try

i really liked this place. went here with a friend on a tuesday night. the place wasn't too crowded. great lighting, great atmosphere - such a warm feeling. the doors were open along the front of the restaurant with all ceiling fans going. so pleasant. the food was really great. i had the shrimp with mango salad - delicious. and my friend had the salmon which was also really tasty. the bill was very reasonable for cocktails, wines and two entrees. i would return certainly and i recommend it. staff was very nice and we did not feel rushed at all.

    a definite must try....

I went there last night and the food, service and beverages were all wonderful...even got to enjoy some live music. we were sat quickly and with a smile. Our food was delish. We had the grilled calamari to start...yum. I highly recommend that one. The two entrees ordered were the grilled shrimp over arugula and the bozo-bozo (potato encrusted striped bass). Both plates had nothing left on them. Go there. Ignore the complaints. Definitely worth the trip.

    Forget this place

Normally, I don't pay much attention to menupages reviews that whine about pretentious waitstaffs and long waits, but in the case of L.E.T., its absolutely justified. I had a reservation here recently and waited over an hour without the slightest apology from the host, who seemed to be overwhelmed trying to balance both serving a handful of customers and maintaining a supercool bohemian aloofness at the same time. L.E.T. is the restaurant equivalent of a bratty child - don't encourage it.

    Hurry Up!

If you want to go to Les Enfants, better prepare yourself to hurry th f up. I went there a few weeks ago with 3 other people on a Friday for a 7:30 dinner (we had reservations). Two of my friends were having a drink at the bar when I arrived and as soon as the 4th person got there (5 mins late) we were rushed to our dinner table, cocktail swishing in hand. At 7:35 the place was pretty empty. Once seated and in the middle of our greeting each other the waitress/ manager? comes with along with the dinner specials. We asked for a few minutes to finish our cocktails before listening to the dinner specials - to which we were told that we could not. At first I thought she was kidding, then I realized it wasn't a joke. We were expected to order everything at once, quickly and get on as quickly as possible. We didn't leave the restaurant then and there cause our friends were from out of town and it would have been a hassle. The food is decent but it is rude and unacceptable to rush people through their meal the way we were. My friends were gracious about it but it was an embarrassment. I am NEVER going back there and neither is anyone I know, if I can help it frankly. As I said the food is good but in this here city there is plenty of VERY good food to go around without the stress of being rushed through your meal.

    Loves it!

Had a great time there last night. The food was really amazing. I had the scallops, although some may find the portion a little small, they're the perfect appetizer! I also had the new chicken dish, it all the flavours I would ever want all together in one dish... mmmmmm! We ordered many different cocktails, the waiter was pretty good and super cute (I understand there aren't really any real professional waiters in NYC unless you go to midtown). All in all my friends and I had a great time.

    Disappointing

I'm still fuming over a disappointing Frriday night when the waitstaff took our order while multitasking her cell phone. Ordered drinks three times, and received a single round. The lamb shank was subpar, received the mousse instead of the chocolate cake I ordered. The service was poor, pretentious, and the ambience contrived. How about those pants!? Steer clear of this LES abercrombie, yuppie destination.

    go someplace else

I went this past Friday...and I most definitely would NOT recommend it. The portions are very small and overly priced, to be expected in ny, however the food was just not good. I ordered scallops to start and nothing stood out about the 3 little scallops on my plate. Then I had the steak, for $23... it was way overcooked, fatty, veiny and not edible. My boyfriend got the lamb, which was better, but a bit too soupy... there was no african/moroccan vibe in the cooking or even in the atmosphere....the waitress was not the least bit helpful. Bottom line I could have had a better meal at my corner diner.
