Cute and mellow spot
I think the bartenders and waiters are quite nice! They are attentive and allow time to relax and enjoy the food/drink. I'm not quite sure what most of the reviewers are expecting?! Prices are reasonable and service is reasonable. It's a busy spot and sometimes waiting is necessary! I like Les enfants a lot! It's a great neighborhood hang out!

Les Terribles
This is an overpriced sub-par restaurant which serves mildly standard fare food. My spinach bacon omelette was so watery from the spinach that i can't even finish it. I mean, a standard home cooked meal would easily top this one. The lamb sandwich was pretty decent. Dessert was not. Mojito was too strong. I mean normally strong drink is good but this tasted nothing but rum which makes it very hard to drink. Did i mention overpriced? The atmosphere felt more like a cafe. Tables are put together really close to maximize seating i guess. It's definitely my first and last experience. Good luck!

Love love love
Been eating here since they opened as we live upstairs. The food is always good. The service can be bumpy: seems to depend on whether the owner who lives across the street is in town supervising or whether the chldren (staff) are left unattended. We ate there on New Year's eve which can be a trying night at the best-run establishments and the food was FABULOUS!! Favorites include the lamb shank, the shell steak and the nougat glacé.

Relax and enjoy!
Some rather bizarre reviews here. I live in the nabe and have eaten at Les Enfants with my wife at least 20 times. The atmosphere is very casual, the service a bit indifferent. The food is good, basically Bistro fare with an African (Cote D'Ivoire) kitchen. We've never been treated badly or had service that was rude. On the other hand, we don't come in here with a big attitude, other than to slow down a bit and talk and eat. Sometimes we have to flag our waitress down for attention, but like I said, this is a casual place. And we like it!

Les Service Terribles
Typical rude French servers. Mediocre food. I wouldn't go here again if they paid me 10,000 francs.

Muddled Impression
On a Tuesday, we were seated immediately for a reservation for two at 8pm. The weather permitted outside seating, and while the table and chairs were terribly unsteady, I managed to shim the table with a small object from my pocket to stop it from rocking back and forth. Our server was very engaging at the beginning of our meal, answering questions of pronunciation and preparation with equal aplomb. The cocktails we enjoyed were incredible. The food was served promptly after ordering. Lamb Bourek: very Good Camembert Roti: Good Goucho Hen: Okay Chocolate Mousse: Okay Cheese Plate: Okay The Wine selection was very eclectic and, I think, well put together. They deserve a lot of credit for this - it engaged my interest and made for a better experience. However, one thing did sour my impression such that I won't return. After check presentation, we left cash on the checkbook, but were in no hurry to depart, our possessions still draped over corner or spread on the table. There was wine left in our glasses and quick as a whip, our server was inside the restaurant with the check and back out, interrupting us and asking if there was a problem with the service. I'd left enough money to cover the bill, but had not put a tip down on the table, thinking to do so as we left. The server's impression was that she had been stiffed, though the guests had not even moved to depart. She said "20% is standard..." I muttered something about it being a counting mistake and put more money down on top of the check that she again left on the table, but in truth, the misunderstanding only resulted from the young lady being so very pushy. The moment was sundered. I've worked in the restaurant business in both the front and back of the house for the last 9 years, and one thing I've learned is that you do not chase people over tips. You do, in fact, have absolutely NO right to do so. How many people in truth walk out and leave a glaringly meager tip? 20% is good, but by no means standard, and I usually leave 25% since, broadly, all cooks and servers are my compatriots. But no matter how desperate I have been to pay the rent, I never browbeat someone for a GRATUITY. Sad fact, but tips are left to the judgment of the guest. This young lady may have thought she was chasing after a tip she felt she was due, but she managed only to chase me away from Les Enfants Terribles for good. I'll come back to the neighborhood, but I'll be around the corner at Baccaro.
