The service
I just got home from having late dinner here after work and all I can say is wow! This was by far one of my top 2 places as far as service. I wasn't exactly sure which entree to pick between two, but my server steered me the right direction and I had the beef brisket. I'm pregnant and my back pains started getting more intense, so I only took 3 bites and asked if they can pack it. My server came to check if everything was alright and I told him it was delicious but I would have to finish it at home since my back aches were getting worse. He asked me if I wanted to rest in one of the booths before heading home or if I needed someone to accompany me to the train station. Wow! I was completely fine making it home but the server and the hostess have to be one of the kindest people I met! I will definitely come back.

Excellent diner
Stopped by for lunch - great pastrami on rye only surpassed by the excellent service. If I didn't live in UK I would be a regular customer here.

service
great place for breakfast. the service was outstanding. an asain lady who works the counter and tables is so professional. She is so courteious and helpful. you can tell she loves her work and it shows. i never see the bottom of my coffee cup. when i have to leave quickly at times she always gets me the check fast with a thank you and a smile. i will recommend this place to my friends. they like good service and food also.

Good food and good service
The pizza I ordered at Lenox Hill Grill today was much better than I ever would have expected to find at a diner. In fact, every dish that I saw come out of the kitchen looked delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again.

My vote for worst NYC dinner so far
My husband and I stopped in to grab a quick bite on a Sunday when we were in the neighborhood and we had such a terrible experience I feel compelled to warn others. The place could use a renovation for sure, but that aside the place was dirty with fries on the floor and the ladies room was just one step up from a dive bar. I'm a patient person and all we ordered was 2 cups of soup and a grill cheese sandwich, but I feel it shouldn't take 30 minutes for this order! No one came to our table after our order was taken, and after 25 minutes we started trying to flag anyone down...but no one came by our table, finally my husband had to yell to the kitchen area for someone to help us. Finally the manager apologized and in 5 minutes we had our food, but really unless you keep burning the sandwich or started cooking the soup from scratch 30 minutes for soup and grill cheese at a dinner is just crazy! We got a free refill on the soda, but that doesn't wash down the bad taste I got from my visit. We will stay far away from this place!

They Kicked Us Out of Our Seats!!!
It is too bad to have to write a negative review of this diner, since it is a good location for a quick bite on the UES. However, I was horrified when the manager asked a friend & me (who are both 8 1/2 mos. pregnant & had just finished lunch) to clear out a booth to make way for other "imaginary" customers. There was no one waiting to sit, five other empty tables & several seats available at the counter. When we asked if we could sit for just a minute more, he said "no." I mentioned this incident to another friend who said this type of service is the norm not the outlier. Nothing special about this spot to make it worth that type of treatment.
