meh
Passable bagels but no better. Definitely inferior to Absolute Bagels a few blocks north. Today I got a toasted everything bagel, only to find it burned black. When I asked for them to redo it without burning it they told me that anything with onion on it always burns. When I asked, again, for an unburnt bagel, they toasted a plain one and gave it to me without apology. First, if everything with onion on it burns, their toaster is bad; everyone else can toast an onion bagel without burning it. Second, they shouldn't serve burnt food, at least without warning the customer ahead of time that it's going to come out that way. Third, they should apologize, not act as though the customer should have known better than to order something that was going to come out burnt. Very lame.

delicious bagels
i got a whole wheat bagel with lox spread. not only was the bagel fresh, perfectly (minimally) toasted, with the right ratio of crisp outside to chewy inside (not to mention the generous spread), customer service and even regulars were super friendly and helpful. made my early saturday morning!

NY Bagels :)
The bagels here are very fresh, and they're pretty generous in their spreads-- in both quantity and selection. My only regret? That I don't live nearby and can't try more bagel combinations and/or sandwiches!

YUM
I've been going to Lenny's for years. The fresh lox is a fantastic way to start the weekend and the roast beef sandwiches are prime for nights I want a quick, filling dinner after work. As an unofficial bagel connoisseur, I have to address the previous review because the bagels at Lenny's are not undercooked. It's quite common for freshly baked bagels that come straight out of the oven to the baskets to experience osmotic pressure, especially in the more humid days of summer. Therefore, I accept that it's perfectly natural for some varieties to "sweat." I don't mind it cuz it indicates to me that the bagels are fresh.

undercooked lately
I love Lennys bagels, but the last few times I have gone there the bagels have been undercooked -- certain parts have to be cut away because they are mush, and the rest of the bagel has a wetness to it that is unappealing. I dont like my bagels baked like bread -- and appreciate that these are real bagels, but unfortunately I have to comment that the quality seems to have gone down lately.

Lenny's Rocks!
Lenny's Bagels Rock! And their coffee isn't bad either.

The best bagels in the city!
I grew up on lenny's bagels. You would think that one would get sick of having it over 20 years but this is the only place that I can go back to and know I will be more than satisfied. Their lemon-poppy and blueberry mini muffins are amazing! I get them every time with my bagel. They are so friendly and nice, just that alone makes me want to go back, not to mention their great bagels and even better prices.
