It was okay
After reading the reviews I was pretty excited to come accross this place, esp since I had a powerfull urge for a sandwhich, It was your typical place, with a cpl of diff varities that draws you in-The sandwhichs are typical NYC- meat and cheese and lettuce. It wasnt anything to write home about...i thought it was gonna be one of those mom and pop deli's but its a chain with its own tshirts, so the food sounds better than it is..i wouldnt go back.

Best sandwiches ever
Lenny's really is one of the best places to get sandwiches in the city, on the east side or west. The food is absolutely fantastic. The staff are great, and you never have to wait very long. The ingredients they use are out of this world. Every sandwich is a classic, but made with a delicious twist.

Best Sandwiches Ever
Lenny's is a blessing to this neighborhood. The best sandwiches on the UWS! Always taste very fresh, hot, and delicious. Friendly staff. Good value. Clean, modern interior. Forget the bodegas for sandwiches!

Best Upper West Side deli
Lenny's two Upper West Side locations are worth a visit for the amazing staff alone. They are ridiculously fast, scream back and forth in Korean and Spanish, and somehow manage to make really great made-to-order sandwiches in no time flat. The kitchen is clean, the food is well-priced. With the exception of a mediocre hot-bar, this is a great deli.

Echo the thought
I agree with the previous review. It's hard to find a sandwich shop like Lenny's that uses quality ingredients, offers an interesting variety of cold and hot sandwiches (and soups and prepared foods), and provides quick and courteous service. I've been going to them for years, and the only drawback is that the place is so popular that one has to put up with a zoo-like atmosphere at times (especially on the weekends).

Why aren't there more of these?
As a non-native but long-time NYC resident I was surprised years ago when I moved to the city that there were not more quick, clean places to grab a basic sandwich. The corner delis are scary and dirty and the pizza joints in NYC just sell pizza. Lenny's hits the spot for a good honest sandwich. I gave Lenny's a 4 for service, because they are fast, even when busy, and do a good job keeping the lines in order. It's not a restaurant, it's a sandwich shop, so the ratings don't make much sense, but I am glad I have a Lenny's in my neighborhood.
