food is great, delivery is poor
Sandwiches are great, but service is poor. Delivery took over an hour, and they were not apologetic at all. The only thing they could say is maybe you should order earlier, or from somewhere else.

Lenny's Rocks!
No, seriously the best sandwich around. Most lunch places start to make the food at 8am. By noon the food is old and dry. Lenny's busts out some of the freshest fare to be had. Here's what you need to do. 1) Study menu. (don't let me get stuck behind you thinking) 2) Pick one. (they know what belongs where) 3) Wait on line to order. (one line to order, one to pay) 4) Enjoy awesome food. I prefer the C4 on a wrap but you can't go wrong there. To the clown that said it was small and/or expensive, what planet are you from? I'm an adult 6' male and I can barely scarf down a hero there. I used to split it and have half as a late day meal. And expensive? It's only expensive if the food sucks. $9 ($8.66 actually) is par for the course.

This Lenny's needs H-E-L-P
I keep on hearing how much people love the Lenny's chain--I just don't see it. The food I've tried is fine, sometimes a little better than expected. But at this particular outlet, I've frequently gotten mischarged (upwardly), or items have been omitted completely from my extremely simple order. The language barrier at Lenny's is evident, but that should in no way extend to the person at the register taking orders--That's where Lenny's falls apart for me. Someone in upper management needs to take a serious look at how poorly this particular branch is run, and make some changes. I'm rooting for Lenny's to work out in the neighborhood, as Jubilee is decimating any and all competition for sandwiches, etc...in the Seaport area. Good luck and get it together!

They need help
I've had Lenny's for a long time now, and when I moved to Seaport area, I was delighted to hear that there was a Lenny's near my new home. However, the john st. Lenny's is far from perfection. B'fast is overpriced, Lunch delivery is chaotic, and when I do receive my food, the sandwich is all wet from condensation. When I do come in for a take out, the cashiers up in the front are slow, incompetent, and their ability to communicate with the customers are minimal. John St Lenny's is a disappointment.

Best Deli Downtown
Yeah, I said it. Food is fresh and consistently good, I order 4 or 5 times a week. I am glad to pay an extra $2 for a sandwhich that has not been sitting around overnight. C4, #10, #7 are my favorites. While the order here/cashier here can stress out newcomers, I firmly believe in the system. This way if there are 20 people waiting for their order, at least you can give your order right away. No stress about who's next to order and no line. If there's a line for heaven I am going to hell but while I'm here, I'm going to Lenny's and NOT waiting on Line for the best sandwhich in lower Manhattan.

No Bang for Lots of Buck
Lenny's is probably one of the one places that I feel that I got suckered into paying for something that was not good and cost too much. I got the tuna melt wrap, cost me almost $ 9.00 and I was still hungry afterwards and it left a bad taste in my mouth. The counter service people were rude, maybe because it was lunch time and everything is in a rush, but at least look your customers in the eye when you talk to them. Overall: Poor Service, Overpriced and not fulfilling!

Great for breakfast, too
I work near the place and I have become addicted to their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches for breakfast. It may seem like a sandwich that any place can make, but after years of getting them at various downtown joints, Lenny's version is killer. I only eat them on Friday's, but I have a spring in my step as I stride south on John Street, in anticipation.
