Not gourmet - but good brooklyn italian food

First, let me point out that this is not gourmet food - you will not find a sprig of locally harvested parsley over your gluten-free spelt pasta here. It's Brooklyn Italian food, and very good comfort food, if you get my drift. The pizza is meh, but the chicken cutlet parm, meatballs, shrimp cocktail, baked clams, lasagna, and baked ziti are all very good. The prices are reasonable, and it's certainly good eats.

Lenny & johns, bargain tuesday isnt a bargain

Contrary to other patrons reviews, that the food wasnt up to par I decided it was tuesday and i would give them a chance. well, listen to the people, it had to be the most disappointing pizza i have every tasted. my father who eats anything, couldnt finish a slice. i would have been better off paying full price somewhere else. i asked for it to be extra crispy, well it was blacken, but was as chewy as rubber with no taste. sorry about this review, but i will never go there again!

    Slipping a bit....

Used to be my go to place for a pie in Marine Park. However, their quality is a notch below from say, five years ago. Decent, but their are better options in the area. Their Tuesday specials are still worth it. Pick up only, 7 or 8 bucks for a pie (I forget) tough to beat. Their pizza is decent, just not the best out there. Their Italian plates are under seasoned. Stick to the pizza and the baked clams.

    Definitely worth trying

Lenny and John's is a neighborhood staple. I think you have to consider a few things to set your expectations accordingly: if you are looking for fine dining this is not the spot. The restaurant is very much like a neighborhood pizza spot and the pizza is a little lackluster (mainly if you catch the Tuesday pie special, which is a great value but so many of them go out that they don't give it the extra love). The rest of the food is VERY good. I've been a customer for over 10 years and here's some facts: 1) the shrimp cocktail is always fresh and a great value. 2) baked ziti with meatballs, spaghetti and meatballs parmesan, baked clams, broccoli rolls, and chicken cutlet are always great. 3) they have an easy set up for repeat delivery customers where they have your address by looking up your telephone number (great service) 4) when they say 45 minutes, they mean 45 minutes (very rarely earlier or later) 5) they are open late. Keep it up guys!

Tasty baked ziti along with the pizza!

Lenny&John's was recommended to me and when i went there I was impressed. I have had the baked ziti which was fantastic and it was a reasonable amount. I have also had the pizza; the plain slice and the "white" slice and they were both delicious. The cheese is great and the crust is baked to the tee. The service is good and the employees are very friendly. Also the prices are good. The atmosphere is good, it is a typical NYC fast food restaurant. I recommend it to everyone.

    I have had better

I have had my share of pizza throughout the country, but this store does not live up to its hype. I was recommended by my friend who's a critic to try their pizza, but was sadly disappointed. The cheese was somewhat pasty and had a congealed affect, and their crust was pretty flimsy so the cheese practically slid off. I hope that is not how they make all their pizza because it brought to mind the question of how they could fit anything besides cheese and sauce on that crust? The atmosphere was to be expected since the space was not large enough to hold parties or large groups. It can get pretty loud in there so a quiet meal is out of the question. During peak hours there is standing room only which proves they can get pretty busy. Their prices were not bad, but for the quality of the food it does not seem to add up. I guess it all depends on how you like your food since all I tried was their, but I was not impressed. I judge a pizzeria by their pizza which should usually draw the customers in. I can personally say that I will not be making any more trips over there for pizza.
