    Needs better lighting (warmer)

I came to this place after reading about it here because I wanted a interesting old place to go. We went in and it wasn't busy, it needs a little more atmosphere but not bad. The man at the bar was very nice and attentive. I'm glad to see a authentic German place to go to once and awhile. I like the sitting area in the front but wished they had more German artifacts on the walls.

    Great Food/Poor Service

I have been here about 5 times. The food is VERY good and they have a great beer selection. The back area is pretty cool but it would be nicer if it had some windows. But otherwise it is a great place. One word of caution is the service. It is normally great but they just hired a new person (or atleast I think he is new). It appeared to me that he was trying to ignore the customers. It was so bad that 3 people walked in, sat down and then left. For this reason I will not give the place a top rating.

    A Taste of Home

I have been to Lederhosen several times, sometimes for dinner and sometimes just for drinks. It was always a pleasurable experience. There is a lot of variety on the beer menu and being from Germany myself, I must admit, the food tastes amazing and quite authentic. While the painting all over the wall is a bit cheesy it somehow creates a cozy atmosphere and if you are planning on having some good beer (and food) with a larger group, this is the place to go. The service is also good and people are quite friendly. I highly recommend Lederhosen and as a matter of fact, my mouth just got watery and I am heading there right now.

    One of our favorites!

First of all, Lederhosen offers the best prices and selection of German beer that we've seen in the city. With authentic bocks and pilsners on tap, the beer aficcionado will be pleased. Though the menu doesn't hold many options for vegetarians, meat lovers will enjoy the variety of Schnitzels and fish. Portions are large, but few drop below the $10 mark. Most plates come with a variety of side dishes and a choice of sauce. Our two favorite dishes are the Jaegerschnitzel and the herring fillets with horseradish sauce. The popularity of this restaurant means you'll have to wait on weekend nights and the service is a bit slow at times.

    NYC's true German Experience

Young German-American Club of New Jersey comes back again, and again, because of the value, the beer, the food, the service and the location -- it's right off Chris. Str. PATH --- IT'S TRUE LOVE! It's run by the people who own it and their attention to detail is truly German -- something we'd know about. Take home orders of the most awesome Spaetzle. Our mother's have competition in this place. It's the hangout where everybody has a great time!

Fast so wie im Biergarten ...

I celebrated my birthday with 20 friends at Lederhosen. We had a great time. The service was wonderful and the food was great. All of my friends - from the US and Europe - loved the beer and Schnaps selection. I had a great birthday and experience at Lederhosen. I and also my friends can highly recommend this restaurant. The food is real German; cooked and served by Germans. You should go and see for yourself ..... Prost!

    Great Place

If you want to go out and drink, you cannot go wrong with Lederhosen...Period. The food is reasonably priced and great tasting (how can you go wrong with the sausage platter...two german sausages, potatoes, etc. etc. for $10). Food is the side attraction...the beer is amazing. Having been here with many of my friends, no one leaves sober...try a liter of the Weiss or the Bock and you will realize what I mean. Bottom line - lederhosen is a lot of fun with good food...by all means go!
