good service
I thought the service was just fine. We had the weiner schnitzel and beef stew and both were very good. The room is on the loud side, but after some good lager, you won't mind.

best spaetzle in nyc; poor service
can't say enough about the food here. it's delicious and inexpensive. the spaetzle is perfection, as are the wursts and the sides you get with the dinner platters. draft beers are delightful. but i agree with previous posters: the service is not good. the waitress there looks at you like you're crazy half the time and looks incredibly bored. if the food weren't so amazing the service would keep me from returning. the dining room gets loud but i guess that's part of the charm of the place.

great
If you are german this is a must in NYC. I dont know what the other guy was talking about with the server. Ours found out that we were german and started speaking as if we were old friends the beer wow. Have not seen such a selection since I was in germany. The food have not had some of these this since I was small. The value of food and beer you get is unbeat in NY

Poor experience
The food and massive beer steins at Lederhosen are a worthy beer hall experience, but our waitress was quite possibly the worst server I have ever had at a restaurant. From the minute we entered the establishment, her surly attitude was obvious. She was belittling and rude, ignoring requests and taking an exceedingly long time on drink orders. Throughout our Lederhosen experience, she complained about having to work to another waitress. She rolled her eyes and sighed heavily whenever she was in close proximity to our table. Honestly, I would have done better to go back into the kitchen myself to place the order and retreive it. She was such a poor waitress that I don't think I will go back to the restaurant in a long time, if ever - and I love the food.

Unique
This a unique spot. In reference to the comment of "no windows", you should know that the restaurant is housed in an old theatre, the famed "Little Peoples Theatre Co." Love the location!

Great atmoshphere good food
A little hard to find but that is what makes it a special gem of a place. The server was really sweet and the food delicious. We were seated promptly and attended to the whole time. Try the panckakes you will not regret it.

Fun times
Good food and atmosphere. I always go there for private German parties an every time I have a good time. The food is good and the beer selection is good too!
