    A little perplexing but delicious

My boyfriend made a last minute reservation here a few Saturdays ago for a family dinner. We were worried about a restaurant that could accommodate 8 people at 7:30pm as of 3pm that afternoon. We had nothing to worry about and as we were led through the labyrinth of rooms, we soon saw why the reservation had not been a problem: there are four separate rooms! Try to get a table in any room except the front one, which looks a little corny. The menu was varied and reasonably priced. Try the braised octopus appetizer and the gnocchi. They claim to have the best spaghetti and meatballs in the city. I'm not sure about that, but they are very tasty, albeit a bit greasy. There also seemed to be about 20 different specials that evening, a somewhat typical practice from what I could tell. So glad we found this place, what a gem!

    It was great

I came to Le Vie last night with a friend. The bar area is cozy and they will serve anything from the main menu. There are only a few tables there- so get there early. The olives with the bread were great and we shared the tortelli with asparagus- which was good- and light- and an order of the mac and cheese- which was great- and heavy. The bartender was very nice and helpful. Prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Consistently Delicious

I have been to Le Zie about 10 times over the last 3 years, and have been extremely pleased each time. The salads are light and refreshing and the melt-in-your mouth fresh mozzarella with ripe tomato is absolutely outstanding. All of the pasta dishes spinach tortellini with crispy sage, gnocchi, linguini with clams - are very good, and the fish specials are delicious and interesting. Ignore the negative reviews - this place has some of the best food in Chelsea for the best value!

    Delicious!

My boyfriend took me to Le Zie on New Year's Eve, and we definitely enjoyed it :) The dining room was intimate and festive (the ceiling was lined with balloons for the holiday), and the lounge was packed with about 20 people ordering drinks. I love mac & cheese, and am now a big fan of Le Zie's. My boyfriend opted for the "Best Spaghetti and Meatballs in Manhattan," and received meatballs that were seasoned to perfection. I recommend it, and hope to go back soon myself!

    Despite the reviews....

I loved this place. my mom and i went on a total whim and throughly enjoyed it. my mom doesnt really like to try many news things and she had Ricotta and Spinach Tortelli, Brown Butter, Asparagus, Crispy Sage and absolutely loved it. i had the fresh Tuna Ravioli, Light Tomato, Tarragon Broth, Crispy Ginger and it was decent but my moms was the best. i asked the waiter for his wine pick and he was exceptionally helpful. I'd definitely go back.

    This is good

i have lived in the neihborhood for six years and know my way around and am surprised to see how many bad reviews are piled up on this place. my wife and i eat here two or three times a month and sometimes more than that. we go there because the food is always good and on occasion great. we will always choose the side entrance on 20th street where there is a little bar and lounge and will wait until we can be seated at the bar or small sofas. yes it can be crowded at times and always helps to get here on the early side. the gentleman who owns the restaurant is an italian this has all of the character of a really good tratoria in the main space and the east village in the lounge. i don't particularly like the back spaces to dine in but there is another small bar in one of them that can also be nice to eat at. my suggestion: arrive early, eat at the bar in the side lounge and you'll be treated like a local, enjoy the atmosphere of a beautiful small room and the food will probably taste a whole lot better for it. this is a solid restaurant if you know what to expect.

    Not recommended.

We picked this restaurant after reading the good reviews posted. I was rather surprised by the ambience and food served once we got there. The hostess was rude, the place was congested , food was tasteless and overpriced. I ordered the tortellini which was overcooked and unsavory. To make a long story short, I would not recommend this place to anyone that desires a pleasant dining experience.
