A friend of mine told me to check this place out, and I am glad I did. I went on a Thursday evening around 8:30 or so. The bar was crowded to the point it was uncomfortable waiting for my table. We were seated in a few minutes and the tables are on top of eachother. Aside from that the atmosphere is cool and people seemed nice. On to the food... The appetizers was well above average and the price was very affordable. Wine list was great and offered a wide selection. I look forward to going back.

I went there with a friend, for a light bite and drinks in the afternoon during a weekday. The food was good and ambiance was fine. Unfortunately, we had to wait really long - more than half an hour - for a couple of sandwiches and two cups of coffee. I know we should have left. Our waiter was flirting with the hostess, instead of serving patrons. We told him we waited too long for our orders. Nevertheless, when we paid we left him a tip (double the tax), though he certainly did not deserve it. We just wanted to be nice. Too bad for us. When I came back from the bathroom, my friend told me that he came back and asked her to give him more tip, saying that it is usual to leave a waiter 20-30%" (!). She is from Europe, and because she did not want to start an argument, she gave him one dollar additionally, which he gladly took. I will never go there again -I don't want to deal with rude waiters. It's not the only French place in the city.

A great little spot for a late dinner. Such a fun atmosphere with a good wine list. I had the hanger steak...fantastic!

Had lunch there the other day. Both my wife and I enjoyed it. There is a price fix lunch at $ 9.95 which had some very nice choices. The salads and other main dishes were good. As it was a beauitful day, the outside tables were full and set a good mood. Naturally, you are on 7th Ave so you do hear noise form cars, trucks and the subway - but who cares when the service is good, the atmosphere is nice (very Parisian) and the price is right. Wish we had more places like it.

What a surprise at the end of my meal to find the restaurant only takes American Express. If I hadn't had $40 in cash in my pocket, I'm not sure what would have transpired. I undertipped the waiter, a nice guy, unfortunately, because I assumed that the place had Visa or Mastercard. Will not return!

Everyone in the family, from the grandson to the grandma, found something to enjoy on the wide-ranging menu. The pate de compagne appetizer, with its accompanying cornichons and horseradish-flavored mayonnaise, was especially good, as were the fruits de mer vouchon and the mesclun salad. Our main dishes, mostly steaks, were cooked as specified and served quickly. Service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was charming and, as another reviewer observed, the staff was a pleasure to look at. Negatives (just to be completely honest): The meat was not quite as hot as one would like (warm rather than hot), although the accompanyments were fine. The sauce on the onglet (hanger steak) was perhaps a bit too salty, although that is a matter of opinion. The overall noise level was a little too high for comfortable conversation among the older generation although the younger customers seemed to have no problem with it. Overall reaction: we will definitely return.
