The food was magnifique! Owned and operated by French men and women. The protions were much larger than one would expect from a true French restaurant. Go hungry as the staff is offended if you do not finish your plate.

As a New Yorker, I have been to many restaurants. This is, by far, the best. Not only is the food exceptional but the value is also. I've always experienced friendly staff and the host makes you feel at home. I've been going there for many years and have never been disappointed.

Went to Le Rivage this weekend not expecting much and got just what I expected. The decor is cheesy, awful paintings and laminated menus. Food was uncreative and subpar, my celery root remoulade came with a crinkle cute carrot and a black olive on top. Come on! If you enjoy innovative and interesting food this is not the place for you.

I brought my mother her for lunch and it was fabulous. Their prix fixe menu has more choices than any other I have ever seen. There is something here for every taste. if you cannot find something fabulous here, you don't like food. My mother had the Coquille, which isn't usually my favorite, but it was delicious. Next time back I actually think I will order it. I ordered the black angus steak and it was great. It was perfectly cooked, nice cut and the sauce was perfect. It is a great value, and I will be back. The service was okay and the waitress not the most friendly, but she was pretty efficient and the food more than made up for it.

Went to Le Rivage before a 7pm show of Spamalot and we were thoroughly impressed. Our waitress was very attentive and although the service was quick, it didn't feel rushed. Our meals were more delicious than we expected. The lobster bisque was light and perfect for an appetizer. Make sure you leave enough room for the delicious assortment of desserts. We would reccomend this place for anyone who wants a great dinner at a very reasonable price (given the area).

I really like fish dishes and my wife enjoys beef, chicken and duck. Le Rivage does all superbly. Please don't go anywhere in the Theatre district Pre-theatre and expect a romantic time! The staff is very cognizant of the fact that everyone Pre-theatre is on the clock! You are going to a Show and that is why you walked in- for a Pre-Theatre feeding, no? The kitchen staff is serious about delivering a good, well-prepared dinner and the staff is very professional in all areas of service. They do a fabulous job of getting you fed and out so you are on time for the Show you paid, what? $275-450 for two tickets!?! You want romance? Come here after the Pre-theatre CROWD has left. Call for a reservation, tell them you want a table for two for a romantic dinner---leave it to their cupid, sly wonderful staff and you will have a terrific ,romantic dinner and not feel wallet raped! I'm going here again for a Holiday Party and I dare not mention Le Rivage to my wife!!! I told her we are going a a rib BBQ joint--- I dare not light a spark into a flame of jelousy! Not before I can make a reservation for two after the Holiday hustle and bustle! I've dined in NYC's finest; I've dined in LA's best and Chicago's five star Green room, and I can say without reservation, if you dine at Le Rivage you will speak kindly of it to your friends. You may even get to play the beast with two backs and quiver under the covers later, so smile slyly, nuzzle/ touch warmly and speak softly with a resonance that bespeaks passion.

Our favorite French restaurant in NYC!! Spend a thousand dollars at Le Cirque if you want to, but the food is just as good at Le Rivage and their a lot more friendly!
