    great food, great spot

I picked this place because I grew up in Montreal and heard they specialized in food from Frech Canada. I wasn't disappointed-- oysters from the maritimes, Montreal smoked meat, Quebec cheddar and tarte au sucre. It was a FANTASTIC meal from beginning to end and the owner and staff couldn't have been more charming. I can't wait to go back!

Truly Great Fish, Truly Lovely Place

We ate here last night and had the most delightful experience. The owner and staff were so lovely, attentive and truly on the spot with food and wine recommendations. The $22 two fish entree is a wonderful idea, and they have truly inventive fish offerings, including a fish "gnocchi" which is made of fish, not potato. The calamari appetizer, braised then roasted i believe, served in squid ink sauce was sublime. Yes, the optional sides are a bit small, but that's been my experience at many places, and the quality is top notch. In sum, the food was really outstanding, the atmosphere warm and extremely helpful, and the overall experience sublime. We will be back for sure.

    Quality, service and unpretentious style

I dropped into Le Pescadeux by mistake and its one of the best mistakes I could have made. The co owner went out of his way to be welcoming and utterly helpful. Relaxed and friendly as are all the staff. The food is excellent quality, simple yet innovative and the chef a total hero. So it is on the pricier side, but totally worth it.

    We love Le Pescadeux

We hosted a brunch at Le Pescadeux and we can not say more wonderful things about the restaurant, the service, the food and the atmosphere. The owner is lovely and very personable. He cares about everyone's experience at the restaurant. the location is right across from Thompson Street park which makes it perfect for kids. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there and have been back many more times.

    Rasmotte is Still Hungry

Rasmotte was very much looking forward to a nice meal in Soho. The restaurant interior is quite nice, the owner's accent authentic; however charging $6 for a miniscule side dish of 1/2 of a carrot seems somewhat inflated, especially given our current recessionist economy.Clearly this is a nouvelle cuisine restaurant, as the portions themselves seem to be on a recessionist diet. $22 for two bite sized portions of fish is also absurd. Rasmotte made a bee line for the door, and was obliged to have dessert elsewhere, fearing that dessert at Pescadeux would be a miniautre creme brulee, or something of the sort.

    A great time

This place is a must visit. They offer a great menu that starts with apps with an east coast origin, to mains with a New Orleans flavor. Check it out.

    Absolutely Fantastic

I have lived in NYC for 5 years now and this is my favorite restaurant to dine at. I've been to Le Pescadeux 3 times in the past 2 months and every time the owner and wait staff make me feel like an old friend. I went about a week ago and they remembered not only my last visit, but what we ordered. They always recommend the best dishes and the oysters are by far the best that I have ever had. I had the braised short rib on my last trip and it literally melted in my mouth. In addition to the food, their wine selection is quite diverse and impressive. Feel free to ask for recommendations on the wine because every time that I have asked they have always brought over something fantastic. A must visit!
