    No lettuce in their salads

I work around the corner so take out lunch here all the time. Every time I have a take out salad I kick myself after. They put like 4 pieces of lettuce in their take out salads. For $14 for a salad they should be giving way more lettuce then they do! I am going to stop taking out soon BC the value is just poor here. It's a shame bc the food is good and fresh.

    Bad service, average food

Service has been really mediocore on the most of the 8-10 times my husband and I have been there (we live on the block). Food is OK, atmosphere can be noisy.

    Fantastic weekend breakfast!

The bread basket is full of a variety of delectable breads served with butter and jams. The coffee is hot and the service is quick if you get there early on the weekends. Wonderful change from the standard bagel fare on the UWS!

    Afternoon respite

After trekking through NYC and walking up CPW from W 59th, my fiance and I were dying for a bite to eat, and a doorman on CPW suggested Le Pain Quotidien. What a treat! We warmed ourselves with their delicious Belgian hot chocolate and ate fabulous sandwiches of aged guyere cheese and cornichons. We were most impressed. I highly recommend Le Pain Quotidien. It's just a short walk from Strawberry Fields for those who, like me, come to pay their respects to JL.

Great food but can be hectic

If you go on the weekend, it's an hour wait for a seat. That said, the breads are fabulous and the food is fresh and delicious. You have to share tables though. When it's so crowded, service can be a bit harried.
