An excellent neighborhood bistro
I live in the neighborhood, and have been eating there for years. Excellent fish and onion soup, the entrees are tasty, the atmosphere is very French, and the value is very good, because of being near a university. Weekend brunch is also excellent.

Inedible food and intolerable manager
Our $11 burger came out with dry meat, stale bread and cold fries. Instead of apologizing, the manager insisted that they have never had a problem before, and that it is "you, not us".

Reminds me of Paris!
Sitting in Le Monde always remids me of eating in a cafe in Paris (aside from the noise). The absolute must are the Escargots and the Croque Madame. The Escargots come with savory garlic and olive oil that is delicious when you scoop up the remains with the crustic bread that is supplied. The Croque Madame comes with a flavorful mesclun salad ( if it is not tasty ask for more dressing) and matchstick fries that I always ask for to be extra crispy and with a side of mayo like it is served in Paris. I have never had dessert because I have never had room for it. I always leave full and gratified for hours.

Love Brunch
I am their neighbor and been to this place for so many times. I must say servers are not so great, but food is great. I been to so many restaurants, and still this restaurant is my favorite. Try their burger, bun & burger has excelent balance! Also Brunch is very tasty, price is not so high compare with midtown. I'm sure neighbor appreciate this restaurant.

Nothing to do with a French restaurant
The first time I was there, kind of late in the evening, the bus boys began to mop the floor (complete with Chlorox!!) as we were mid-way through dessert. Although the wine selection is very good, the servings are tiny,as compared to the price. The food can be good or it can be barely OK, but this is not the place for a nice, quiet tete-a-tete: noisy as hell as there is no sound-proofing... As for the prices, they are way over the quality of the meals. Overall, NOT a good French restaurant, (hopefully the owners look at these reviews?)

Ugh
Tonight my husband and I ordered the bouillabaisse special ($21.00 a plate). My plate contained 4 mussels, 2 shrimp, some tiny mess in the middle that might have been a very small piece of fish, a slice of potato and sprig of fresh rosemary. The most expensive item on the plate was probably the rosemary. It was also tepid. The total amount of food was equivalent to a small appetizer. This was the most egregious bit of price gouging to which I have been witness. Maybe I don't get out much. When we complained, the manager told us that that was "what they always send out on Friday". We left and went to Henry's and had a GIANT bowl of mussels for $16.00. Very nice atmosphere AND you don't get gouged.

oh mon dieu
I was really excited to eat at Le Monde again... i enjoy french food, and had a great experience eating here my 1st time, but this was VERY different. the duck confit that I ordered was as dry as the Sahara and the potatoes were no better....I was embarrased for them for serving it to me....I'm not one to waste food, but I sent my entire plate back to the kitchen -C'était dégoûtant...and unfortuntately we paid full-price for the meal. Will I be back?, Probably, but only because J'aime manger des aliments français...et je vis autour du coin
