I really enjoy the place everytime I go.

After a few visits, we have come to the conclusion that the restaurant has pretty good food, fair service (not bad, but slow) and a nice atmosphere where you can have a good Kosher meat meal and not 'break the bank". The "steak frites" is a good value item as are the roast chicken dishes. Desserts are very good. We will return as "Kosher" sometimes means, bad sevice and high prices- Le Marais is much better than that.

For one, this is not French Cuisine. Yes, the menu reads "steak frites". But nothing about this place or the food reminds you of a French place - decor is boring, staff doesn't understand French words from the menu, place is loud, and food is disappointing.

The best kosher steak in new york. Other places may be trendier but Le Marais's food is always excellent. Restaurant is a bit cold and dark.

We walked in last minute since we could not get into our planned restaurant before our show started. We were unsettled by the small selection but when the food came - it was great. We had ribeye and prime rib which were fantastic. Great flavors, cooked perfectly, and quick!! Everything comes with french fries which were good as well and a side of greens which had a vinegar, garlic, oil mixture which was tasty. It was so good, we stopped back for dessert. The waitstaff was very pleasant. It was a tad overpriced - but its NYC. The atmosphere was very mellow.

pretty good food but they expect a huge tip because they don't have their waiters on salary! and it's very noisy - and you need a sweater because it's freezing there in the winter ...have fun!! enjoy (oh and don't buy wine - its 4x overpriced)
