    Good Steakhouse

I keep Kosher, and the only place that compares to Le Marais for a good steak is Prime Grill. The negative reviews are unwarranted; I have always found the service to be fast, the steak to be very good, and the atmoshpere is loud and fast, but not unpleasant.

    What is the hype?

My wife took me here for my birthday. What a disappointment. Thee was a strange odor in the place, the decor is rather blah and the room is quite loud. We both ordered the rib eye and though I ordered medium rare and my wife ordered medium, the steaks were cooked the same. The fries were heavily salted and the service was deathly slow. $135 bucks with dessert and tip, what a waste!

    Overated Restaurant

I went there yesterday for lunch. First of all, it wasn't packed, yet it still took a long time for the food to arrive. The waiter gave us an extra coke on the house (big deal). I ordered the La Surprise, which nothing surprising about it. My boss ordered the Black pepper crusted steak, which he said was good. Each of us paid $42. Was it worth 4 days worth of lunch? not at all.

    Overrated

Went here for dinner. Ordered steak, frites, and salad. The fries and salad were good. I don't know what the hype is about. I've had better steak at a fast food chain restaurant than this one without having to burn a hole in my wallet. Definitely do not recommend this place.

    Pretty good

A good restaurant overall. I had the bison steak and it was pretty good. The waiters were very attentive and helpful. Food took a little too long to be prepared. A little crowded and was forced to sit with another couple. Prices arent bad for a good steak.

    Not a very good restaurant

I went to Le Marais because it was open at 10.30 pm Sunday night... The hostess was rude, the waiters not very professional and the steak...well, quite mediocre. I had read the Zagat review, and they do not give it a very good mark, unlike this website. So, I presume a lot of friends have written some reviews (just look at the similar style, use of words...). The decor is quite depressing as well so it is not a good idea for a date. It is an option for a late dinner, near Times Square, that's all...

    A good value-atmosphere steak house

Great place with good atmosphere and good food, I am not kosher but have been here on more than one occasion and eat at many steak houses however my experience here was a dream. The wait staff are friendly but not always on the ball, the place is busy with people from all walks of life which makes it fun to people watch, I would also say that it would be a good date place. I have had the steak tartare a couple of times which is delicious, but the other night when I was here my friend had the prime rib which was really delicious.By the way must not forget to mention the french fries, sumptious. The steak frittes is always a winner.
