    The Bitter End

Although most reviews noted poor service, did not find that was the case. Five of us were seated at a very nice round table. We did not feel rushed and food arrived in a reasonable time. Everything was delicious; steak au poivre, entrecote, steak frites, coq au vin. Shared three desserts; apple, blueberry(the evening's special), and lemon tarts, which were all wonderful. Service was very pleasant. Everything appeared to be fairly priced for a kosher steak restaurant in Manhattan. However, $5.75 for a cup of decaf coffee (rather tasteless) and the same for a cup of tea (water, a tea bag, a slice of lemon - not a pot of brewed tea) is outrageous. Do not recall seeing the tea and coffee listed on the dessert menu. Go for the food! Skip the coffee and tea. New York tap water is very palatable. Drink that instead.

    I should have listened...

Went today prior to the Broadway show in spite of warning from friends about the service (always listen to friends). Service was poor (soup arrived after main dish. Had to ask and wait for coffee refill. Not much french in the food. Overpriced (American Coffee $5.75)

    Not worth it

If I wanted service that bad I would fly to Paris. We waited almost 10 minutes for drinks, the waitress had to ask twice what I ordered. We weren't asked if we wanted a second round of drinks. Food was fairly good but uninspired and over priced. Even the manager didn't seem to care that we were unhappy. We ate here because I have a dairy allergy and I thought this would be an easier place to order. I was wrong. Since we normally have Saturday evening theatre tickets it's easy to cross this one off our list.

Much improved! Well Done Le Marais!

Was just there. Service was great- very responsive and friendly but not overbearing. We asked for a few items that were not on the table and they appeared within seconds. Upstairs is so comfortable and i find it's quieter, too. Worth going back! Enjoyed the sliders very much!

Lots of flaws, but steak makes up for it!

Service is subpar. Waitress needed help opening wine and food sometimes can take 30 minutes to come. The place is nice, but can be very loud and noisy when packed at nights so it's best to go lunch time. They should invest in noise reducers. Despite all these issues, their food makes up for it. I eat at many kosher restaurants, but this is the only one where I order steak. Their pepper steak medium with their French fries followed by molten lava or apple cake dessert is the best kosher order in New York bar none. No contest.

    Don't Go Here

On 6/13/13. My husband a few friends ate here for dinner. They spent over $1,000 on the meal. He forgot his $500 Hugo Boss jacket. He went to retrieve on on 6/27/13 with the claim check and they no longer had the jacket. We got married on 6/16/13 so he was a little preoccupied to fetch the jacket right away. Most places keep items for 30 days. Especially a $500 sports jacket. The restaurant was rude and offered no compensation or even vouchers.
