Great Steaks! - I cannot believe the bad reviews.
I am in my late 50s and have been eating strictly kosher for 36 years. Previously, I did not eat pork, meat-dairy mixtures or shellfish, but had eaten filet mignon and sirloin steak. The tournedos at Le Marais is as good as any non-kosher steak that I had ever eaten. I always order it without the bernais sauce and get the salad without the vinegrette. I also like the jerky and other prepared meat products that the restaurant's butcher shop sells. The butcher shop sells raw tournedos. Once, I bought one and broiled it at home. It did not the same as a steak served in the restaurant. This is NOT because they selling different cuts for off-premises consumption. This IS either because there is a skill to doing something as seemingly simple as cooking as steak, the restaurant has a special professional-use broiler or Le Marais seasons its steaks with a "secret" seasoning.

The best French restaurant
Delicious succulant kosher meals. The waiters are efficient and do not stop to ask you questions every 5 mins. Le Marais offers a good lively enviroment, steady walls (for the hard of hearing) and well presented meals.

Find another restuarant
Very nice looking place, we went in with high expectations and ordered some beef. Fast foward to over an hour later and we still did not get any food, we weren't the only ones either. No drinks or anything for having to wait over an hour for our food. This is the place to go if you have alot of time and you're in the mood for solid food and quality entertainment.

My Favorite Place to Go
Le Marais is absolutely my favorite restaurant and I look for any excuse to go there. Finally, there is a Kosher restaurant where I am not embarrassed to take non-Jewish business associates. Yes it is noisy and the service can be spotty, but the food generally is excellent and for a good Kosher restaurant the prices aren't no where near outrageous.

Good food, poor service
Waitress took order. Servers came with food, but neglected to tell which patron ordered which food. This happened with appetizers and entree. Serving utensils were requested from 3 different wait staff and didn't receive any until a 4th request was made. Then received 2 sets for each family style dish. Wine never poured. Very disappointed

Too Rude to Care
The decor is nice enough, but the food was drab and the service bad. We got the Steak Frites and the Coq Au Vin. The only thing good were the Frites. The steak was tough and tasteless. The Chicken had been prepared at least a day before and was reheated with what could have been a nice sauce, but wasn't. The Coq Au Vin was on a foundation of mashed potatoes and was accompanied by a small onion and three oyster mushrooms. Each of these could have added a dimension of interest to the dish, but each of the parts of the chicken dish were poorly made so the total plate was less than the sum of it's parts. When the waiter nearly tossed the bill on the table on his way to doing something else, we both knew we'd come to the wrong place. Don't make the same mistake

Best Steak NYC a must go!
Big portions and it is not expensive AT ALL for what you get and for a steakhouse in NYC especially a kosher restaurant. I am not even kosher but I would choose to go here any day. Meats are cooked exactly how you ask them to be. They are juicy and tender a great value for $30. I do not understand what the other comments under me are talking about although it may be crowded its a perfect restaurant for a family dinner or a date. Obviously you do not order spaghetti at a steakhouse yes it will be over priced and not amazing! Its French not Italian!! And a kosher restaurant that serves meat will not serve dairy
