    fabulous brunch

seven of us went after the central park more half marathon and our reservation was honored for 11:00. everyone loved their meals and i requested that that red sauce for my eggs florentine be replaced with hollandaise and it was as good as i've ever had. the accompanying salad and thin fries were outstanding. very charming and good service. we would recommend this place

    Delicious and romantic

Love this place!! The menu is authentic French but there was something for everyone. Onion soup is one of the best I've had - not the easiest to find a good one. Overall liked all the dishes we tried. The staff was friendly when we came in, and waiters were very attentive. Not sure why it got mediocre reviews before, maybe they have changed because I thought it was great. My new favorite place on the UES!

    Like a sweat lodge

The food is ok and the service is fine but the place is way too warm for comfort. I complained and they turned the heat off for a few moments and then blasted it again. I complained again and this time they did nothing as it was towards the end of my meal. No apology, no nothing. I won't be back. There are plenty of other places to go in the neighborhood that you don't sweat in.

    Really poor service

We waited almost an hour to get a salade nicoise and an order of escargot before giving up and leaving. After about 40 minutes we flagged down our waiter (with some difficulty, he hadn't stopped by since taking our order) and asked if there had been a mix-up with the order. He came back and said it would be another 4 minutes, that it took a long time to cook escargot (huh?). We waited another 15 minutes, left money on the table for our crummy wine by the glass and told the waiter we were leaving. No apology or attempt to rectify anything other than a "your food is almost ready." Clearly the order had been lost and the waiter lied about it rather than admitting it and offering an extra drink or something while we waited.

This place is going down big time

This place has gone right down hill. Use to be okay while ago, I don't know what happened. VERY poor service and rude people running the place, food was okay but with all the wait to get it in my table it was not worth. I complain with a man that said he was in charge and he was very rude, I would leave but it was too late to look for another place.Sorry but I really can't go back.

    A new favorite

Ever since Annie's disappeared, I've been looking for a new neighborhood restaurant that serves simple comfort fare (apart from Sarabeth's). Le Magnifique fits the bill. The menu is extensive, the food fresh and tasty and the restaurant cozy and inviting. I'm definitely going back -- and soon.

    Over rated

The food was mediocare, the tables were so small, everything kept falling off from it all the time.
