    My Favorite!

I come here all the time with friends and family it only gets better. The staff is a little slow but the atmosphere and food is unbelievable. The cajun chicken is to die for as is the foie gras. Everything on the menu is amazing.

    Great food, So so staff

All the other reviews are pretty much on the dot. The place is small but the food is wonderful! The 2 waiters are beautiful to look at but their customer service skills are a bit on the low side. If you don't mind not getting water this place is one of the best place to eat at.

    Fantabulousness on the Upper E

Came here with a friend for 9:30 dinner on Sat. night. Thought the wait would be horrendous based on previous reviews and the size of the place, but we had only to stand around for 5 mins. Previous review about the quasi-rude staff that warms up as the night goes on was dead on. Food was delish. Foie gras nicely done. Cajun chicken with that sauce -- to die. And the fries are better than McD's! My friend got the sea bass and it was so tender and moist. Hugh Grant and Jemima Khan seated at table right next to us. You can't beat that and the uber-chic NY atmosphere. Loved that they pumped Bjork loud after 11. Love this place; an encore a definite must.

    Yummy but....

As the reviews say the restaurant is small and I'm pretty sure that I was practically sitting on the people next to me. We had to wait for a table but the owner gave us a glass of wine to make use feel better. All in all, it was very good but just beware of the size of the restaurant.

I'm having my birthday dinner here

So my boss recommended this place to me. It is difficult to find, but once inside it is a sweet place. It's tiny, however it kind of gives it an exclusive feel. The waitstaff was quasi-rude at first, but they warmed up. The patrons were chic and the food was AMAZING. I ordered the steak, but the waitress recommended the cajun chicken, so i got that instead. BEST chicken ever. We ordered wine and have a great meal only to be surprised with an additional bottle of wine and free dessert. We felt like royalty. They turn the techno music way loud in the late hours and the staff are great fun. I will definitely go back.

    Fabulous little Upper Easter

YES--the reviews below are right about the service. The waiters seem to never have any time for you, and you have to ask for things repeatedly. And you're so cramped, it's impossible to move. If you're on the banquette, 4-5 people have to move just for you to get out. And you always have to wait for a table. But i LOVE it! The atmosphere is AMAZING, the people are fabulous. On weekends they turn up the music and it turns kind of crazy, it's GREAT. A total scene. Yes, the food is great too, but that's not why you go. And no, this is NOT your typical little french bistro with candle-lit tables & checkered tablecloths where you can hear your neighbors a few feet away. So if you're looking for a little french restaurant for a romantic dinner & quiet conversation, this is not the place.

    good food, terrible atmosphere

I was really excited about this "small" restaurant. Food turned out to be good, try the foie gras. you won't regret it. but the atmosphere is definitely not a small, cozy french restaurant atmosphere. The music was really loud and completely distinct from the restaurant itself. It is not that I was expecting a romantic place (which I was) and it turned out to be something different; but rather the atmosphere was disturbing. It was closer to a bar than a french restaurant. Service was below average, especially for the prices. Waiters ran off to other stuff while talking to us, had to ask for a glass of water several times etc. Definitely skip for a romantic dinner. might be good at a less busy time for good food.
