    Loved!

My fiance and I ate there on 6/6/11, and the food was great (get the cajun chicken!!) . The staff was friendly and, on whole, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. It is very small inside, so it you get fussy about your space or are claustrophobic, ask for a seat near the door. Music is a little loud too at times. Toward the end of the night it quieted a little. We went there expecting rude waiters (we thought it would be fun, believe it or not), but were met with nothing but friendliness. Go there.

dont know who the maitre'd thinks he is

My first ever review but I am fired up. After waiting an hour in the cold the host asked if he can gets us a drink. When the bill finally came the host proceeded to say that he offered to get us a drink not buy us a drink. In this economy you have to thank him for allowing you into his restaurant?

No need to have awful service

No need to have awful service in order to eat French food. If you have to eat here be prepared for the dismissive, rude and unimpressive staff. I spoke to the owner about the unprofessional staff and it became apparent why they are so awful. The owner has captured the offensive market and shares the spoils generously with his wait staff.

    The French have not changed...

Food was over the top, excellent, couldn't say enough. The staff, however, needed work. Hostess was rude, made us feel "small" and put us at the worst table...even though NO ONE around. What a shame. Could be great but needs a lesson in diplomacy.

    Delicious but...

Loved the food & atmosphere. It really does feel like you have been transported to Europe as everyone around us seemed to be speaking a romance language. The outdoor seating is lovely & the inside was cozy. I started with les endives au roquefort salad & very much enjoyed a fish entree. Both were light & flavorful. But the service was not good. When they bring you something as simple as tea it does not seem to occur to the staff to also bring you milk &/or sugar. French waiters can have a snobby rep but even they know this simple thing. The food's gorgeous but the staff, though friendly, can use a little "Waiter 101".

You'll Love It or You'll Hate It

If you like it the first time that you visit, you'll be hooked for life. Look beyond the attitude of some of the staff and the wait for a table (wirth it!) and enjoy the food for what it is... probably the best French food outside of France. The first place I visit every time that I go to NY... I've even been to NY once from Portland, Oregon for the mushroom risotto and Steak Au Poivre!

    Not good

I don't recommend this pricey restaurant. The place is cramped and uncomfortable and the staff is unpleasant. The food was not awful, but the atmosphere made it difficult to enjoy. I would definitely skip this place. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the area no need to go there.
