    Disappointing

Best part of the meal was hallowed out egg with custard inside, pretty disappointing cosidering the price and "celebrity chef." Waiters did their jobs, but were distant. Atmosphere is elegant and simple, but I expected more from it. I felt like I was in a friend's dining room. I think we ate more bread than food, since they keep coming around with it! They have too since the portions are so small, leaving you hungry.

    Truly amazing and beautiful meal!

Everything from the hostesses to the captains and waiters to the aparatifs and main course and petit fours was a truly memorable and wonderful experience. This restaurant is all about attention to detail and they truly pay attention to it all and make it seem effortless. To address a previous rating, I'm glad that children under 12 years old aren't allowed. There are just some places where children being present isn't appropriate. This is one of those places. If you go, you will want to go again! I know I do!

    Great place

Good food, great service, what else do you need? Btw, angry father who wrote a review - as a parent, I would never bring my child here, also I sure do NOT want to hear your two year old!!

Don't allow kids under 12, how ridiculous!

I just called to make a reservation for my wife, some friends from out of town, my 2 1/2 yr old daughter and myself and the reservation attendant informed me that they their policy is that kids under 12 years old are not allowed. How ridiculous for a New York restaurant! My daughter has been going with us to restaurants for dinner since she was 1 year old and is better behaved at the table that some adults. I can't believe such policy. I won't support this restaurant for the next 10 years and encourage all New York parents with small children to do the same. TP

    the best seafood in nyc

what a great experience on Valentine's day. My boy friend and I had chef's tasting menu $185.00 for speacial menu for the evening w/ truffle sauce. Their 8 course menu is somewhat different than regular menu. Monkfish is out of world and salmon was totally rare which I didn't finish. Sauce is overpowering the fish. I wish they just put little less. food and service was superv but setting was way too tight. servers keep bumping each other and kick our chairs a couple of times. My boy friend didn't like crowded seeting. Most interesting thing was chef Eric Ripert was waiting for us to say good-bye by the entrance. We shaked hands and receive a gift bag incl. zagat book, truffles, champagne. What a great night we had. By the way, I was keep looking at the menu for whole meal time cause I want to know what I'm eating. However one of server asked me if anything is ok. I guess they thought I have a problem w/ menu.
