Used to be better
Pizza used to be crisp and fresh. Now, raw and old. Seriously, go to another neighborhood for pizza.

Bad attitude, good pizza
The woman on the phone who took my order was so rough and rude that I almost hung up. I decided, however, to follow through because I'm desperate for a good pizza place in my new 'hood. I found it. The pizza is brilliant. The pizza arrived timely. I'm a purist so I ordered the Margarita. Its rectangular, and super thin and crispy. Personally I like the crust to be just the most basic delivery system for the topping. The sauce and cheese were both good and in sufficient quantity. It was finished with whole tomato slices. Yum. I'm going to assume for the time being that the woman on the phone was just having a bad day

Next please
I was told by a friend that this is the best pizza he ever had in the city so I gave it a shot. To me, it left a lot to be desired. The pizza is thin crust Sicilian style available in half (3 slices) and full pies (6 slices). We had half margarita (Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil) and half of the Lazarra Special pie (prosciutto, tomato, black olives). Let's break it down. The crust is a thin wafer with less flavor than a saltine - kind of a cardboard delivery device. The fresh tomato and tomato sauce combination was surprisingly bland and very acidic. Cheese was nice, creamy and the best part of the pizza. Unfortunately this was only present on the margarita half of the pizza. Prosciutto and black olive toppings were nice but just didn't work to well together. The service was just indifferent. In all I would say that Lazarra's leaves a lot to be desired.

Over-priced, low quality, bad service
So we recently ordered delivery from Lazzaro's. We asked for a large pizza for 3 people. We were told the $15 pie would be big enough. When the delivery arrived, it was a tiny small pizza that was only 10. wide and wighed less that 5 ounces. I called the restaurant and asked them to rectify the situation. They refused and said it was our fault. Do not order from Lazzaro's. Low quality service. They argue with you and tell you you're wrong when they don't deliver what was promised. Way overpriced. Run away. I will not eat there again.

Amazing Pizza
With all the pizza places in ny tasting the same, Lazzara's stands out. This is the best pizza we've tasted in the 6 years we've lived in nyc.

yummy
I've had some distracted waiters but it's a charming little restauant. Delivery is easy the person I got on the phone was so easy going and helpful and I didn't feel like he was distracted or was going to get my order wrong. The pizza isn't the cheap slice from the corner it's square, fresh and super yummy. the margarita and classica pizzas are the besttheir pepperoni is spicy and shredded, not circles. Fresh vegetables, delicious crust it's a special treat cuz it'snot cheap but still, best pizza I've had in midtown.
