Neighborhood Stape
What you need to know: 1 . food is good, not spectacular, the caljones is a too greasy, but delicious when you want that. veggie grilled pizza is also yummy. sausage parm and sausage pasta gets two thumbs up 2. while it is a bit overpriced, the ingredients are fresh and they make everything well. 3. often loud inside with families, and strollers. but the sit down service is courteous and quick.

Pizza for children
Flavorless kiddie style pizza. You can find a better pie at your local high school cafeteria.

A neighborhood staple
Paninis as a lunch special or the Plain Jane pizza/salad/drinks for $20 is perfect for the kids, mom , and dad. The back garden is a bit tough to get to with strollers, but is fine once you get there. The pasta dishes are limited, but consistently good-the spaghettini - our favorite.

Average (at best) food -- bad delivery service -- overcharged my credit card
Placing an order was torture. Hung up on mid-order because another call was coming in. No apology when I called back. Couldn't figure out how to make any modifications to the menu. Food was not bad, but it was not that good. It was $49 for a large plain pie, a rigatoni with plain tomato sauce and a caesar salad. Not the end of the world, but no stunning value, particularly for doughy, soggy crust. Finally, the kicker, was that my credit card was charged $2.61 more than the amount I signed for it. It is an amount that is far too small to warrant submitting an inquiry, but it is disappointing to have been micro-robbed by a neighborhood place. Do not recommend. Jado's pizza (which took over for Monty's on Livingston) has better pizza.

Pearls for Swine
The pizza at Layla is excellent. However, if you are used to eating low-end 99 cent fast-food slices, you won't have the palate to appreciate the quality ingredients and subtle flavors that make up this wonderful pizza.

They try very very hard . . .
The pizza is not stellar, but it is not awful either. Their pies are all square with a very broad border of crust. The fresh mozzarella slice is a little plastic, but I really prefer fresh over the more processed, richer tasting stuff. The regular slice is far moister. There is a lovely back yard with wooden furniture. To those who said bad things: shame on you. Why so harsh?
