Pearls for Swine
The pizza at Layla is excellent. However, if you are used to eating low-end 99 cent fast-food slices, you won't have the palate to appreciate the quality ingredients and subtle flavors that make up this wonderful pizza.

They try very very hard . . .
The pizza is not stellar, but it is not awful either. Their pies are all square with a very broad border of crust. The fresh mozzarella slice is a little plastic, but I really prefer fresh over the more processed, richer tasting stuff. The regular slice is far moister. There is a lovely back yard with wooden furniture. To those who said bad things: shame on you. Why so harsh?

Poorest Pizza ever
This is the poorest pizza I have ever had. I think the pizza in my high school cafeteria was better than this. I would eat ANY frozen pizza over this any day, and I don't like frozen pizza. I don't understand how a place like this is still in business in NY. Overall the dough was like cardboard, the little sauce that was there tasted like it was a jar of Ragu or Prego, the cheese tasted like polly-o. I ordered the margarita pie. Maybe I should have added some topping to mask the lack of flavor in the pie. don't do it!!

Excellent customer service
I've ordered pizza here a few times for delivery. It's always excellent and the delivery is always prompt. Plus, they are courteous on the phone. I find that a rarity in New York. It's a gem of a pizza place and worth a try.

Absolutely great food not just the Pizza
I didn't even know this place existed a year ago. i've been a customer since June and honestly this nieghborhood has been waiting for a place like this. They have a Rigatoni and sausage dish i eat once a week, enough said. The service is really good they have great service from the delivery personell to the lively waiters you just don't get in every restaurant. Last but not least the Pizza is like none i've ever had, the Hero and Farmer pizza's are really good and i recommend you try them all. I havent had a bad experience once.

Simplicity is key
What I like about Layla's is their simple menu. They have a repertoire of items that they deal with, and everything is fresh and consistent. When dining in, expect a laid-back, jovial atmosphere with a mom and pop shop feel. Everything is good, but items that stand out are the mushroom penne, the spaghetti and meatballs, salads, and of course, the pizza. One thing I think they could do to encourage even more repeat visits is to add a few weekly specials. Simplicity on a menu is a double-edged sword; sometimes the new will beat out the old, even if it's tried and true. Other than that, this place rocks and it's been a welcome addition to the neighborhood ever since they opened. I recommend.
