    Don't even go

Food is very poor, service is worse than food. It was a "it" place for a second, so it is obvious that all the employees (other than busboys) are totally caught up in the idea of working at a hot restaurant. Don't even waste your time and money here.

    Really

was hungry after bouncing around midtown, so instead of going to my local place closer to home tried this place...simply put, the old saying don't judge a book by its cover. the place looks nice and that's when it ends. poor service from the get go, should have made me leave, but gave it a shot, i have had better tasting frozen meals than this..price was unjustified, for pub food. stay away.

    Wouldn't come back

Food was pretty good but not worth the money. Place was full of arrogant people. Overall not worth it with so many better options.

    Good scene, poor food!

Went for husband's birthday and unfortunately we were both disappointed. Chicken parm had no taste and was cold, spaghetti was hard as a rock and could have chipped my tooth taking a bite. Sent it back and came again the same way. Lost appetite..

    defined

after being treated by uncaring self aborbed hostesses, deafened by poor acoustics, disappointed by service and tasetless food and robbed by the costs...i know understand what Lavo is short for....Lavortory. And what do you find in Lavortories...let the tourists-B&T crowd keep this place..thinking its a typical NYC restaurant...but in reality its the complete opposite of what a good NYC rest-bistro is all about. skip it

Go for the beautiful people but not for the food

Great atmosphere and beautiful people. Other than that - would not recommend. Food was underseasoned and no salt on the table and/or barely edible. Watery salad dressing, marinades all off and just tasted off. Portions were small but that's OK because didn't want to eat the food anyway. Would have sent a number of things back if I wasn't with clients. Service slow and got a bit of an attitude. Hugely expensive for what you get.

    Take your ear plugs!

Reservation for 16 so money to be spent.. But to wait 90 minutes for your table and then be placed at the restroom door is ridiculous! The bar area is unbelievably crowded and populated by Those Who Wish To Be Seen. That said, the food was plentiful, tasty and well presented. Tuna tartare excellent, pizzas interestingly different, and great meatballs. Service good, but dining room far too crowded so diners always being bumped (the restroom position!). Wine list good but way overpriced - even by NYC standards. Would go back under duress on someone's expense account.
