After checking out the reviews, I decided to go to Laut for myself when I was craving some noodles. I went to the restaurant, but ordered take-out and the hostess was very helpful in finding me something spicy. I had the mixed seafood in my dish, and was surprised to find that nothing was overcooked. It's unusual to find any Asian restaurant of this quality and with these great prices. The selection of proteins also had much more variety (duck, red snapper, soft shell crab...) than is typical. This is my new go-to place for Thai and Malay, and I'm going back to try the Tom Kha!

I went here with my friends for the first time a couple of weeks ago and have to say that everything is wonderful. Service is great. I would recommend this place to anyone. Even if you are not in the area, this is a must. Place is a little small but everything else makes up for it.

Laut is very, very fresh & very, very tasty. Seems to be more geared towards Malaysian than Thai food which is awesome. Dishes are surprisingly authentic. Great food all around. Only 2 minor issues: Could be a bit heavier in the protein department (ie more chicken, shrimp, etc per dish) and personally I think they should really up the heat when requested. No need to mellow the flavors.

I just ordered lunch from here, and was prompted to write my first review after taking my first bite. This is the fastest delivery I've ever encountered in the neighborhood, especially on a rainy day. I work in the Flatiron building and I swear the food showed up in 15 minutes. There's a ton of it and it's super tasty so I'm off to eat it now. This place is definitely tops on my lunch rotation now.

My sister and I have gone to Laut about 8 times in the last month and have been amazed each time. I've taken visiting friends there too, and we all agree that this is the best malasian/thai food that we've ever had. The Masak Kicap is unlike any dish that I've tasted, and their Tom Yum soup is a staple. Ask for Cami, she is veryinformed about the menu and makes some great suggestions. This place is the best.

I am a long-term neighborhood local and have seen restaurants come and go for years. I was a bit dubious about this place as it looked to be another overpriced trendy spot. Instead I found great, smart, perfectly-spiced food and a simple atmosphere that was very welcoming. It is a wonderful bridge between the expensive foodie stops and the deli-style soup and salad joints that are spread throughout the neighborhood. Welcome Laut.
