Fresh and tasty
We visited last night and really enjoyed the food. The pizza was yummy and the salad so fresh. Service was good with friendly staff.

Not as good as the original
I have been a huge fan of the location on Kenmare and Mott. Would go almost every week while living in that neighborhood. Was delighted to find that they were opening up one in the east village. This one is much larger and has a decent layout. The food however was no where near as good. The pizza is close to the original L'asso but multiple plates (carbonara, steak, some salads) were pretty disappointing. On one occasion our waiter was kind enough to give us a free pizza since we didn't eat our poorly cooked meals. Pains me to see this one doing so badly.

Quality food, quality atmosphere
Lasso in the EV is good. Relaxed spot, good atmosphere. Only serves beer and wine, but that is the only downside. Food is great. The previous poster who said they tack on 25% is confused. I have been here ~ 20 times as I live in the neighborhood, and there is definitely no extra charge.

Think twice
The pizza here was lame, tasteless dough....and think twice about the tip you leave - they sneak on a 25% service charge. A disgrace to brand itself as offering pizza D.O.C. with mozzarella di bufala when it wasn't even close to the real thing. Service was kind but messed up in the end to accept an accidental double tip which was half the price of the food!
