Worst tasting Indian
I was excited to find an Indian Buffet in Manhattan, which I discovered in one of the daily free NY newspapers. Their lunch price of $7.99 changes to dinner price of $9.99 after 4pm, so I was happy when I got there at 3:55pm and was still able to pay lunch price. From what the newspaper article said, the buffet comes with a free soft drink. So this was a dream come true. The dream ended there though. The quality of the food was mediocre compared to the Indian Buffets I have been to. Also, I should have double checked when the waiter asked if I wanted a drink because I was charged $1 for a can of soda. The shady part was when I went up to pay and at first the cashier (same person as the waiter) told me mine was $8 and my friend's was $9 because she ordered something off the menu AND got rice from the buffet. What restaurant doesn't include rice with an order of chicken tikka masala?! So she got a little upset about it and the employee only charged her $8. We both paid $8 and then the waiter told me I need to give him one more dollar because I had a soda. He pointed to the buffet sign outside that did not mention the soda. So either the newspaper article was wrong, or the restaurant changed their buffet policy or they wanted to scam me for a buck. The bottom line is that I have no reason to come to this restaurant again. I have no positives about it except that I was relieved that after all the skulduggery, I was not charged extra for the piece of nan bread that the waiter asked if I would like.
