5 of us ordered the soup & half-sandwich special. The waiter brought the soup, then told us there was no turkey. Okay we'll have pastrami. No pastrami. Okay we'll have brisket. No brisket. This is a deli restaurant? It was like a joke only for some reason it didn't amuse me.

It seems Lansky's have hired a new member to its Management Staff. Quite Professional and Stern, I'd Say. From a poor experience in the past at this local deli, I decided to come in again. This new manager, was on the waitstaff like white is on rice, making sure the water glass were full during our entire meal, empty plates were taken away, our waitress was in eye view. It was quite the experience, refreshing I must say: If her presence is permanent at Lanskys' I found my new home. Food has always been good- with her around the service is about to be a complete turn around, she is a no nonsense person- pays attention to detail and customers. Viewers You must go back to see what I'm talking about.

Unfortunately, this place has good food, but ordering it is a joke. It doesn't matter how many times you ask for extra mustard, or a side of cole slaw, or whatever, it will never come, at least the first time. There is now way to personalize your order. While we like the food, the same thing happened to us again tonight for the umpteenth time. I'm hoping the restaurant gets this message b/c we'd love to be able to order from here again w/o having to deal with the headache that goes along with it. When you own a deli, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that there has to be a decent process in place to take orders and deliver them. Come on guys, you have good food, get your delivery together, man. Hire a delivery consultant if you have to.

The problem with Lansky's is they have great food but really poor service. Tonight "takes the cake". I order the 'Famous Lansky's' sandwich - it is, after all what they are known for, it is what I take to go all the time, but the waiter instead brings back some grilled cheddar cheese thing with a salad. When I challenge the waiter, he says "yeah it does look kinda small" and walks away! I have to go up and get a menu to verify that this is a different sandwich and then finally prove it was not correct. The manager was no better, it was like talking to a clueless vacant shell of a person. Even ordering to go they are completely incompetent and mess up all the time. It pains me as an Upper West Sider, you wish for this place to succeed, but its service is one of the worst around and for high priced sandwiches/food - it goes unmatched.

service not so nice people....I ate before there it was ok but its gone way down hill.

Ordered 2 burgers deluxe off their "old" menu. Waitress on phone neglected to tell us this special no longer existed. So she charged us for 2 individual orders of french fries for a whopping $11.90! It was almost as much as the burgers. She did not give me the total of the order before delivery, either. They will put you on hold forever when you call and complain. Had to go back in person, or would rec'v only a "french fry credit" for my next order! There never will be.

arrived, seated right away, served right away, had great food from a great server and the place was packed, other than the screaming kid a few booths away, all was great...hey Mom and Dad's out there, if your kids can not behave in public, take them outside or go home.
