unPHOrtunate
Had a lousy experience ordering delivery from L'Annam yesterday. Food took about 40 minutes to arrive, a bit on the long side for NYC delivery but not unacceptable. The food, though, was awful. The summer rolls were just bad -- heavy shrimp flavor that not even the sauce could mask, and rather chewy shrimp. We didn't finish them. The pho lacked flavor and half of its meat was inedible (and I was a bit concerned that the broth wasn't hot enough to cook the meat, which arrived uncooked and unappetizingly placed on top of the noodles so that it dripped blood all over them, but it seemed to cook OK). The curry chicken soup was watery and tasteless. They were out of all desserts except ice cream, so at least we didn't waste any more money on them. Very disappointing; would never order from them again.

Good Tofu dishes!
We order from L'Annam about once every few months. The dishes are solid. Pricey, but that goes with the area. They are quick in food prep for pick-up. Never called for delivery, so can't say how it is. The dine-in is standard fare. Waiters don't bother you unless you call for them. Neighborhood go-to place.

Poor service
I ordered L1, L2 and Basil Beef for delivery today, we do this at least once a month since 2004. For the second time after a couple of months today, they sent us not the correct basil beef. It's a beef dish but not the basil beef that we always order. The first time this happened they sent back the guy with the correct one and took the wrong basil beef from us. Today, when I called the manager she checked with their kitchen and insisted that it's the correct basil beef. She asked me to describe it and said it's the correct basil beef. I am positive it's not because it's totally different from the one we always had, so I asked if she could give me her email address so I can take a picture of it and send it to her for her to see, she doesn't have an email address. Worst thing: when I requested for a refund, she told me NOT to call them again in the future to place an order. She said I'm not a good customer. After 15 minutes, the guy came back with my money and picked back up the food. Don't I have the right to request refund for an incorrect food delivery? Can't my concern be attended to with pleasantness? We've been ordering food from them since 2004 and occasionally dine in their place on 28th St.

great everything!
ive been coming here for some time now for their lunch special and their service is quick, and good. theyre very attentive and the food is delicious. the portion is amazing for the price that you pay and in the area, you won't find anything better. the selection for lunch specials is really good too, although i would say if you want real vietnamese food, head to chinatown. but obviously their prices won't be as cheap as chinatown. the food is a bit americanized with selection of fried rice and all but nonetheless still very good! the manager is a really nice guy too. during lunch time like 12:30-1:00pm it gets quite busy but the wait for a table is not that long.

Thank you L'Annam!
Stuck at work again, another late night, and under the weather to boot -- but no worries, for there is L'Annam, bringing me delicious noodle soup with just the right amount of ginger, and so quickly too! And on my measly work budget I was able to afford not just noodle soup but veggie buns too! Bless you L'Annam, for it all!

Great stir fry shrimp noodle
I came visiting from Singapore and today my friend recommended me to try L'annam for some comfort Asian food. I ordered a takeaway of the Shrimp Pad Thai- it was heavenly. The frying technique is very familiar to me - more Singaporean/ HongKong stir fry style than a normal Thai/Vietnamese cook would. It tasted sooo great, abundant veges and shrimps topped the steamy hot noodles. I will definitely go back to try more dishes :)

Great lunch
So fast and fresh. Really great lunch value. 2 entrees and a soda, $15! I will definitely go back.
