    Good place in Times Square

We've eaten here several times (on different trips). The food is always good, though a little pricey - pretty typical for Times Square. Typically, the service has been good. The most recent trip the server was a little less attentive, but seemed more occupied with a larger group ordering alcohol. Obviously, he knew where his larger tip was coming from. But other than that, our experience here was good.

    salt, salt salt

great place for cozy atmosphere and service, but the food is terribly salty. I read other reviews that had the same salty complaint. everyone in my party ordered different items, and unanimously all were served over-salted food. Note to kitchen staff: let your diners salt their own food!

    smallest pour ever

Stopped by for a drink before a show. Husband asked for a Michael Collins neat (irish whiskey). Was served a tom collins w/o ice. Turns out bartender in an irish pub never heard of the whiskey. Had one the next night in another irish pub around the corner so it's available. I ordered a bloody mary & it arrived in a 5 - 7oz juice glass with plenty of ice, all for $9 . Nevermind the vodka, I didn't think tomato juice was that expensive. Have no idea how the food is but I have no desire to find out.

if only the food matched the decor

a couple of years ago, I went there and had fish and chips. It wasn't great but then again this is America, we are not known for great fish and chips. About an hour ago, I went there to get an order of fish and chips to go, because it's absolutely the only place anywhere near my apartment that has them at all. Well they won't be seeing me again, for anything. The fries had to be made last night. Stone cold, burned and hard as a rock. Thank God there was hardly any of them to begin with. The fish was almost tolerable, that's all I ate of the meal. The rest went in the garbage.

Our Swiss Friend Had a Great Time

My two friends and I met our friend from Switzerland in New York on Saturday, June 14, 2008. Where to go for lunch? Based on a recommendation, we chose Langan's, and all of us are very happy we did. Aliyana was very helpful in taking our telephone reservation. The booth setting was ideal because we needed a comfortable place to talk. The food was delicious for the price - a fine value! The service was attentive, professional and very friendly for us out-of-towners. And Kathy from Ireland is the best! She even offered some sightseeing tips for our Swiss friend. Even though our lunch reservation was at 1 PM, they kindly allowed us to stay and talk until around 4:45 PM. This was extremely important since we may never see our Swiss friend in person again. All in all, a wonderful experience. We plan to return to New York during the Christmas holidays, and we will certainly put Langan's on our schedule for lunch. My thanks to all who made our afternoon in New York memorable. Bob Landro - Hazleton, PA

    Fabulous dinner

We loved our meal at Langan's! Had the prix fixe and chose the lamb shank (upcharge) and steak frites. Both were wonder. Appetizers were both delicious but the desserts were really spectacular - brownie sundae (upcharge) and cheesecake. Well worth the upcharges, and the overall value was terrific. Very glad we found this place and we'd go back again if we're in the area.

    25th anniversary

My wife & I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in April 2007, with a weekend in New York City. Prior to our Broadway theater experience, we had dinner at Langan's. Of all the places we visited that weekend, we will make a point of visiting Langan's again. The service & staff were wonderful, the food was good, the atmosophere was definitely New York, and when we were running late for the theater, we were told that after the theater, we could come back to Langan's for a late dessert, at no extra charge. We loved New York City, but we will always remember Langan's. Thank you for making our weekend very special.
