Poor service ruins decent enough food
I have never reveiwed for Menu Pages, but feel compelled b/c of the poor service at Landmarc last night. 4 adults, 1 well-behaved toddler-dinner took 2.5 hours w/ no one drinking. The waiter was so nice and apologetic-manager too-but the kitchen is all messed up. Took 45 mins to get two onion soups and one goat cheese protiferole app-whic arrived cold, and the soups came underdone when we'd asked for well-done. They told us sorry, but they'd burned the first batch and never came over even to update us. The steaks, when they finally came, were perfectly fine-the risotto bland and amateur-tasting, lukewarm and clumpy. Desserts were great-but they never brought us plates to share (it was too huge a table to reach over) and our coffee and capp. (at $5 a pop) took over 20 mins to arrive, long after we'd finished dessert--all in all, not a cheap meal given the service quality, I can't return. They need to get their act together--but I guess why bother, when the crowds keep coming . . .

Excellent
Have eaten at landmarc three times in the past 10 days. The food, wine and service were wonderful. very tasty and not any higher priced than other restaurants. great wine selection... great prices. $14 for a half bottle. try the skirt steak and french onion soup. my husband loves the chicken burgers. will definitely go back again.

Not Recommended by NY Times nor NYMag
I have never written a review on Citysearch nor MenuPages, but I was so compelled by my experience at Landmarc that I can no longer hold back my disappointment. I remember reading an article in New York Magazine that poorly rated Landmarc, but as I continued to frequent the Time Warner Center, I simply could not resist giving Landmarc a try (mistake). Before I begin discussing the food, I would like to quote a restaurant review written in the New York Times: “[Landmarc] serves food that’s seldom much flashier than the fare at a Midwestern Marriott. And that, in fact, is its strength and appeal.” I ordered my appetizer and entrée from the specials menu: egg soup with chicken broth, and grilled lamb chops with salad. The soup was served clumpy and warm, but still had an edible taste. After finishing my soup, I waited another 40 minutes before getting my lamb chops. The tables that were seated after me were half way through their entrees. I expressed concern and my waiter apologetically reminded me that my food was coming out next. By the time my entrée arrived, I was not even hungry. The lamb chops were warm and over cooked. The outside was visibly burnt with charred meat clumps. The salad was not properly paired with the meal as it was extremely bitter.

What a difference a day makes?
Wow, after reading many of the previous reviews, I have to wonder if we were eating in the same restaurant? The one thing that I will agree with most, is the food is excellent. However, our waiter, was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He had a good grasp of the menu and the wine list. We asked for suggestions several times and were very pleased with his recommendations. He and the rest of the wait staff were attentive and courteous. We feel the restaurant is a nice combination of excellent food and a good value.

Drunk and disorderly
Landmarc at Time Warner Center is a pearl cast among swine. All the ingredients are in place for a good if not great casual restaurant -- the food, the overall quality, the exceptionally reasonable wine list -- and then you go there and realize why it's not getting its props. The clientele is appalling -- dominated by expense-account yahoos and shrill, gum-cracking packs of young suburbanoids straight out of a high-school production of Sex & the City. I don't blame the waitstaff for being uninspired and even a bit rude -- serving the likes of these yokels can't be fun. TWC is now firmly established as a destination to avoid, even with the high-end dining options.

Liked it a lot
My husband and I had dinner here last nite for the first time - having read these reviews going in, we were both prepared for terrible service. However, it was great - the service, the food, the atmosphere. Maybe they heard enough about the bad service issues and they fixed it. We really enjoyed it - pork chop v good and my husband liked the monkfish. We'll definitely go again.

confused!!!
They took on too much with this and can't duplicate the great comfort, service, and style...including great food always... at the wonderful tribeca location!!! Lucky to get one star! Don't bite off more than you can chew Mr. Murphey!!! I will give it another go and hope it has risen to new standards!
