    Dissapointing and not recommended

I really dont recommend this restaurant. Landmarc began to dissapoint from the beginning. We came in on a Saturday late morning, the place was mostly empty and the hostess was too busy taking reservations on the phone, even with many servers around no one noticed us. After we were seated we wee asked for our drink orders twice by two different people and still we didnt receive the drinks right before our order came out. The glasses had stains on them, the napkins had stains on them as well. The food was overpriced $100 for brunch? We had two omelets, pancakes and drinks. Oh yea, their subpar hash browns cost $6 and came in a tiny tea cup.

    Wine "Program?"

The quality of our dinner was very high. It was solid French Bistro food which is what Landmarc says it is and the prices were reasonable for the food so I am not sure why so many people complain about it. That being said I am still confused about the "wine program." Their wine list is quite good and there are a lot of small labels of high quality and the prices are fair. The waiter was WAY over the top going over this. We ordered an older 2nd growth bordeaux and were astonished when the waiter showed up with awful, cheap "applebees" like pinot noir glasses and thought I was joking when I asked if they had any more appropriate glassware and I am sure I had a third or 4th eye in my forehead from the look on his face when I asked him to decant the wine. My friend and I actually joked about calling Williams-Sonoma downstairs to send up a decent glasses. Throughout the entire exchange the waiter was talking with his hands, while still holding the bottle, we were very excited to have all the sediment well blended! The cognac was served in Riedel stemless snifters which are also good for bordeaux so ask for them if you choose a nice bottle! I know this sounds like a ridiculous critique, but they make such a point of their wine program, it is unforgivable to overlook such an important aspect. I suggest you stick to the low end of their list. Also, it was about 100 degrees and very loud, so take a fan and some ear plugs.

    Bad Service Lately

I agree with the last reviewer about the service. We went for brunch the other day and actually had to get up and walk to the waiter station (where all the servers hang out and chat) to get attention. After we flagged down our waiter and he took our order we didn't see him again until we got the check. The service has really taken a dive at this place. It seems like a different restaurant than the downtown location which is quite good.

    Save your money

Went to this place after a show last night. Location and views are great, lighting and layout are absurd. One of these places trying its best to be hip/edgy, comes across as trite at I'm sure an extremely high cost. The space is huge, which I think brought service to an almost non-existent level. There is staff everywhere, but they had to be flagged down for everything we needed. I had a $30 pork chop that had obviously been sitting under a heating lamp, while I assume the rest of our meals were finished, it was overcooked and dried out. Spent most of my time trying to chew it than actually enjoy the meal. The food on a whole was warm at best. That being said everyone else seemed pretty satisfied with their meal. I may have been unlucky, but cooking a pork chop shouldn't be hit or miss when your are charging top dollar. I could think of a dozen places that are a better meal for much less, but I'm sure their rent is paid by charging through the roof, which made my expectations high.

    Great burgers and pasta

When I first went to Landmarc, I asked the bartender for recommendations, and to my surprise, she said that the burger was their most popular dish. Very flavorful on the outside with a slightly charred taste and juicy on the inside. I would say that it's one of the best burgers in the city. Since then, I've been back about 6-7 times. The pastas on Wednesday (bucatini all'Amatriciana), Thursday (orecchiette alla norcina) and Sunday (cacio e pepe) are excellent... they may seem kind of simple, but they're well prepared. The lamb sandwich and the hanger steak are also pretty good. If you're looking for an appetizer I would order a pasta. The appetizers themselves aren't too spectacular (and avoid the French onion soup). In terms of service (I always eat at the bar), I would say that it's very good especially considering how busy they get on the weekends.

    Give Me A Break

Attention New York Winers: Landmarc is a great spot in a shopping complex with restaurants that will run you $400 a person... get a life. If you don't like your seat, ask to move somewhere else. If you are expecting Per Se, go to Per Se. This is a solid, delicious, attractive space. And don't you think it's time to lay off the Upper West? What Upper West Siders give up in flash in the pan, stuffy restaurants... you give up in apartment square footage. Please.

    Delicious!

Impeccable from start to finish. I have dined at some of New Yorks finest restaurants and I must say that the tuna I had at Landmarc last night was the best meal I have ever had. Service was attentive & knowledgeable, wine list was extensive & food was phenomenal. After sharing my thoughts with the waiter on how great my meal was, the head chef came over to my table to thank me which was so nice and then sent over a free dessert. A MUST!
