    Great food, a bit noisy

My boyfriend and I had dinner here last night, the food was delicious. We had the fired calamari (which is a bit oily) but good, I had the hanger steak (good size) and he had filet minion (small compare to other restaurants) both were really good. For dessert I tried the tiramisu (it was tiny, I mean very very tiny) but good. Atmosphere, kind of noisy, at times we had to talk loud to be able to hear each other. It's better for groups, rather than couples. Overall good! I would go back.

    Great food, casual atomsphore

Great place to go for a casual dinner with friends. Food was great. I had the fried calarmari, it was a little oily, but still tasty. I wish they had given a bigger portions. For the entre, I had the pan fried sweetbread (calf brains!), one of their speciality. It was absolutely delisous. Dinner for two came to 125$ with tax and tip.

Used To Love It... Keywords: Used To

With the economy in poor shape, eating out is one of the firsts to go, and it looks like Landmarc went the direction of upping their prices and diminishing the size of their dishes. My wife and I used to really like this place and took friends here. Went last night and was really disappointed in the service and the food. Waiter would not make substitute a starch for a vegetable, and the restaurant was empty. Entrees came out while appetizer salads were still on the table. New chicken dish was small and an absolute joke in size for the price charged. A real shame, and I wont even get into the lack of attentiveness by the wait staff. I'll leave that to another reviewer, who will surely experience the restaurant's nonchalant attitude. In short, they've lost a customer and our recommendation.

    Very disappointing experience

I have been to the landmarc in tribeca before and enjoyed the experience, so I was looking forward to checking out the newer location. It was such a letdown. The server was either poorly trained or not cut out for serving. From the time we sat down, she didn't mark us for our courses, never checked back, messed up the coursing and basically we never saw her again. The worst part is that I never saw a manager even walking through the dining room or touching tables. So, there was no chance of our experience being turned around. Setting aside service, you hope that the food will at least be worth it. Everything that came to the table was mediocre at best! It was nothing more the pub food from the average bar down the street. Anyway, I hope with management presence, better training and a decent chef, they can turn this around. It is a great location with some potential, but not as it is now!

    Late-Night Comfort

Places that are geared to serve customers after 10 pm on days not called Friday or Saturday are fewer and farther between in midtown, which is one reason that a trip to Landmarc is worth schlepping to the ersatz shopping mall that is the Time Warner Center. Another reason is the wine list decent and very reasonably priced. The food is third on the list of reasons to go first-rate standard bistro fare, although there's little in the way of off-menu specials (which suggests that the creative juices aren't flowing as freely as the booze). If you need a fourth reason to go, the house music seems to trend toward the early 1980s so you have at least a shot at getting your Rick Astley groove on.

    Food is hit or miss

I've been here a few times and can't get a handle on the place. As the others have noted, the servers are not good. They don't pay attention whether the place is packed or relatively empty. Also, they've brought the entree right after the appetizers on more than one occasion, which is truly annoying. In terms of food, the vegetable risotto sounded like it would be good, but came out dry and lukewarm, as if it had been sitting out for a while. Also, the small portion really was small - not even a cup's worth and certainly not worth the price of $17. The warm goat cheese profiteroles weren't really warm and just kinda bland and average. For dessert, the so-called nutella eclair seemed to be filled with plain old chocolate pudding - VERY disappointing. What DID work were the truly yummy ricotta fritters, which came with delicious tomato sauce and parmesan cheese . The carbonara, which came studded with pork belly, was very good. Similarly, the burger, skirt steak w/ chimichurri, ribeye, and incredibly large moules frites were also delicious. Overall, the food is mostly very good, but sometimes incredibly disappointing. The service is consistently disappointing. For the prices they charge, Landmarc could & should be better.

    Dissapointing and not recommended

I really dont recommend this restaurant. Landmarc began to dissapoint from the beginning. We came in on a Saturday late morning, the place was mostly empty and the hostess was too busy taking reservations on the phone, even with many servers around no one noticed us. After we were seated we wee asked for our drink orders twice by two different people and still we didnt receive the drinks right before our order came out. The glasses had stains on them, the napkins had stains on them as well. The food was overpriced $100 for brunch? We had two omelets, pancakes and drinks. Oh yea, their subpar hash browns cost $6 and came in a tiny tea cup.
