    Depressing Design

This is the dreariest looking restaurant in New York City. Who approved that black ceiling? Needs some color, lightness, design. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

    Get Your Act Together!

I love the Tribeca location and have been there dozens of times and sent friends and fellow employees with high regards. That’s also when I was working closer to that location. I now work in midtown and I think I have given Mr. Murphy’s "new" location enough times to pull it together. Look folks...you are not “new” anymore!! All the kinks should have been worked out by now!! The host stand is sloppy and inattentive...the service is embarrassing...and the food is a gamble. Never great just ok...but sometimes just not good!!

skip this one...go straight to tribeca

I have been to the tribeca venue a dozen times and this one twice - and for the last time last night. I ate at the bar and asked about the cheese plate. He had no idea, so he went to ask someone. Fine. He came back and couldn't remember half of the cheeses. Then he disappeared. I think it must have been the bar manager who showed up, but only because his brother came for free beers. Then a third employee came to chat w the other two and the freeloading brother about how they were going to pick up chicks and what they would do to them. Really? As if! Food is great but staff is classless...

    Hmm. What to say. Roulette?

I have been here at least 10 times probably more. I live in the neighborhood. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. The decor is cool with great views of Central Park. I've had some very good food here, steaks, pasta, hamburgers, salmon and other entrees. I can say that the breakfast is never good, avoid it. Coffee is bad too. The service seems to be consistently bad. For example, the last time I went I was seated quickly with my friend at a very nice table. Shortly after, the hostess came over and asked us if we would like to a better table with a view of the Park. We agreed and were squeezed into a table with no view of the park that was cramped, stuffy and noisy. When we realized we were duped, we confronted the hostess. She basically got us out so she could merge tables for a larger party. She was dishonest and unapologetic when we called her out on her behaviour. When we asked for her supervisor, she hesitated but finally disappeared for 5 minutes. Her supervisor came out and didnt even speak to us, he just offered another table. We dont know what kind of untruth she fed him but since he offered a better table, we took it. Needless to say, after all of that, what was supposed to be a special meal turned out to be a frustrating one. Landmarc needs to train staff much better and the experience will improve for customers.

Tribeca location is better for food...

I went to this location because it was cold outside. Plus, I have been to the Tribeca location three times, each for a different occasion. Each time was amazing! Therefore I assumed that the Columbus Circle location would also be a winner! My friend and I ordered steaks. The meat was ridiculously tough and chewy. My friend should not even cut her's with a steak knife! I had to send mine back to be cooked further so that I can cut and it! Isn't filet mignon supposed to melt in your mouth? The waitress was kind enough to provide me with a fresh plate after my steak was cooked the second time. She even brought cotton candy for my friend's birthday, even though the occasion was mentioned in passing. The atmosphere is nice and the setting is intimate. A little loud, but still good enough to take a date. ...but avoid the steak

    Very disappointed

I live in Tribeca and have enjoyed eating at the downtown Landmarc several times. But my girlfriend and I were thoroughly disappointed with the food and service at the Columbus Circle Landmarc! We got the salmon tartar and it tasted fishy and was way too salty. My girlfriend got the shrimp risoto and it was also over-salted and she found 3 shrimp shells in there as well. And I got the cod fish which was very salty and over-cooked. And the service was really weak...after ordering a nice bottle of wine our waiter disappeared almost the whole meal and then showed up to pour the last glass of wine like he was doing us a favor! And when we got tired of staring at our half-eaten plates for 15 minutes while our waiter was somewhere, we actually moved our plates to the empty table next to us which I have never had to do before. I never write these reviews, but we were so pissed I had to drop this note. Do yourself a favor and pick another Time Warner restaurant or just go to Landmarc for a drink because the bar is quite nice.

    Poor food, no value...

I went to Landmarc on Monday morning and had an omelet, hash browns, English muffin, and orange juice. The omelet was like rubber, the hash browns were burnt, and the orange juice was bitter. I had heard so much about the place, I was very much looking forward to trying it. The waiter had an attitude, and when I told him the hash browns were burnt, he almost refused to take them back. Then the manager came over and agreed they were burnt, and so they replaced them. Not that the replacement was so great. The best part of the breakfast was the butter for the English muffins. It was great quality butter. And the jam was good too.
