    Wanna be.

Last night it was my first time going to this restaurant. The service was poor. we waited at the bar for a table and the waiter was rude. The view was nice but the whole area was so cold freezing and the reason for that was that we were sitting next to an all glass window. Never heard of this. The food was to be desired I don't know where the inspiration comes from for a very spicy Mediterranean salad. The food was overpriced comparing the quality and taste. The manager when was asked if they had matches start laughing, i don't know what was funny about it. The only good thing there was the wine list. The overall atmosphere is mall restaurant- chain like.

    Disappointing service

Usually this place is pretty good. made a reservation sat night at 730 for 2, changed it to 2 for 630 - no problem. BUT when we arrived, the wait was 35 min??? I don't get it , why would there be a wait for that long if you just changed my reservation w/o a problem 30 minutes ago? I understand it gets really crowded on the weekend but have the courtesy to tell your customer that there is a wait regardless they made a reservation a week in advance. After telling me the wait was 35 minutes with a snotty attitude, the hostess went on about how they do not take reservations ? I simply asked her why did you take my reservations and why did I bother taking and changing my reservations if it was going to be like this. She then had the nerve to ask me if I had more than 6 people because they only take reservations for 6 ppl? Really ? I've been there 5 times without any problems, WITH reservations. Rule # 1 : Always be nice to your customers. Most likely we will wait if you are just nice .

    Best waiter in NY

Been at Landmarc(TWC) many times..The food is generally very good but there are dishes that are better than others. The fois gras terrine appy is one of my favorites but the flatbread appy is excellent. The salmon over field greens is excellent always cooked to perfection. The steaks are good but the ny strip is a favorite. The ribeye sometimes can be fatty and tough. The staff is always cheerful and welcoming but our waiter is the Best. The waiter always asks if we want a speedier service(if we are going somewhere after dinner) or a more relaxed pace.He is always attentive to our needs and always asks if we are enjoying our food. He is always friendly and funny too with some good laughs. Overall, it's a nice relaxing place with decent food and excellent service

    Disappointed

I went to the Colombus Circle Landmarc with my boyfriend last night for dinner. It is understandable that due to how large the resturant is, it will be loud. I was okay with that. The hostess (x3) at the front were less than enthusiastic about our arrival and could have cared less if we stayed or not. The waitress bombarded us immediately and then disappeared for most of the evening. It took halfway through our meal to get water. When asked what to choose of 3 dishes, she promptly said the burger. I went along with her promotion and found it to be WAY over-cooked (I asked for Medium and received WELL DONE). The cheese looked as if it was slapped on right before it went out the kitchen door and our waitress didn't check on us once after the food was dropped...which was an issue as i did not have a fork or knife. in their defense, the foie gras and wine were very good. Yet, that will only get a restaurant so far. I recommend going there for drinks and appetizers and sitting at the bar. It is the only way you will get prompt service.

    Exceptionally Good Food

The burger was definately amazing. Although I couldn't say the same about the mussels and steak.

    I Choose Not to Go!

I called to make a reservation for a special anniversary dinner for me & my honey. Some snotty host answered and indignantly stated, "We don't take reservations for parties of two! Reservations are only for parties of six or more people!" Then, put me on hold for a good 5 minutes before returning on the phone with more attitude. He didn't care that I wanted to secure a nice table for my special occasion. So, you know what...there are other great restaurants in the area. Later for Landmarc!

Poor service but an excellent steak!

On our last NY trip we went to the Landmarc downtown. This time we were in the area and decided upon the Landmarc at Columbus Circle. What a contrast. It's about 4 or 5 times the size (if not more) and much much more busy. The service let them down alot. The girls working around our table were more intent on talking to one another than serving the customers. Such a shame. Add to that the busy and very loud atmosphere and it's definately not the place for a romantic or even semi-intimate meal. However, the steak was amazing! I had the Rib Eye, my partner the skirt. Both perfectly cooked to our liking. In fact I'd go as far as saying that the steak was probably the best steak I've ever eaten. Eating that wiped the memory of the French Onion soup from my memory, thank goodness. Would I go back - without a doubt! However I may choose a more quieter time, or head back to the Landmarc downtown. Lovely Steak - Am still thinking about it now!
