    confused!!!

They took on too much with this and can't duplicate the great comfort, service, and style...including great food always... at the wonderful tribeca location!!! Lucky to get one star! Don't bite off more than you can chew Mr. Murphey!!! I will give it another go and hope it has risen to new standards!

    Great food, Poor service

My husband and I finally tried Landmarc at the Time Warner Center for the first time last Saturday afternoon. All of the food was very good, but his spaghetti alla bolognese and my mussels (with shallots in wine) stood out as really fantastic. Unfortunately, the service was so bad that eating our delicious food became difficult and unpleasant. Once the waiter took our order we did not see him again until he came over with the check - and even then he was obviously annoyed that we wanted to order dessert! I actually had to get up and request a bowl for my mussel shells, because the precarious pile on my bread plate began to tip. Finally, we were never able to get fresh pepper or lemon (the waiter seemed to be making a concerted to avoid eye contact as he walked by). We will not be going to Landmarc again, but I may try their delivery, which my neighbor assures me is excellent. .

    A Birthday Lunch

My friend had been there before and suggested that we go - (it was a mutual birthday lunch celebration). It was a lovely setting (great table by the window). The waiter was peppy but NOT terribly knowledgeable... I ordered the moules (mussels) which were delicious, by the way, and when I asked what was in the "provencale" sauce, he said "it is what it says it is" DUHHH? so he came back and said - "Oh - it's a kind of ratatouille combination" - so I chose the shallots garlic parsley white wine sauce (there was a choice of 5 different sauces). and yes, it was delicious ... BUT - they did NOTremove the appetizer plate (another delish dish -- the goat cheese profiteroles) so ... on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give the food and ambience a 9, and the service a 2 to 4 ... (can't blame the kid for trying, but he should have been able to answer my "dumb question" on the first try...) so, since neither my friend nor I were Gael Greene in disguise, we would happily suggest that it's a great eat, but the service leaves a ton to be desired!

    Food very good. Service blah

We were very pleased with the excellence of the food. The burger was wonderful and so was the pasta. The service, however, was quite sketchy; our waiter was inattentive and uninterested in a way I hadn't experienced before. Also, avoid the afterdinner coffee. It's overpriced.

    Best takeout on the UWS

Soon after Landmarc opened it became a takeout staple in our house. The food is always as ordered and it arrives hot. There is not an obnoxious wait time either. No complaints on the takeout. We have never visited the actual restaurant, so I can't comment there.

    Solid food for decent value

If you want a good steak for a decent price, then give Landmarc a try. We recently went for lunch - I enjoyed my flavorful strip steak (generous portions), and though my salad was droopy, the herbed fries more than made up for it. The mussels were also excellent - but the mozzarella/zucchini fritter appetizer was a bit tasteless. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed - modern, simple, and clean. It is busy, but not overly loud - would be a fun place to bring friends. Service is mediocre, but you go to Landmarc for the steak anyways...Will definitely be returning again soon!

A welcome addition to Time Warner Center

I have dined at the original Landmarc downtown many times and the new one manages to be comfortably familiar yet feel like a completely new place. While the Time Warner Center is rather bland, Landmarc makes great use of the space. The wine list is one of the best in the city and very affordable. The food is fresh and interesting. Overall, a great value for a fine dining experience.
