Such a shame

I've been dining at Landmarc for over seven years. Last night will be the last time. Landmarc use to have excellent solid food. The sauces use to have flavor. The prices use to be fair. The service use to be friendly and not pushy. The past few years we've noticed this gradual decline in everything and we let it pass but in the middle of dinner my partner looked up and said you know there are too many places we could be to be eating this anymore. He is right. The food was and typically is now GREASY everything is greasy my octopus salad was a sloppy talentless mess that was soaked in grease. My partners $15 French onion soup was a slopply made grease pot worth at best $8 His steak was okay but the sauce was.... Greasy and lastly my Chicken liver pasta was greasy poorly prepared and for liver shockingly flavorless. The food runner nearly spilled my bottled water because he was in such a hurry to drop our food and run to the next. After the first pour I poured the rest of the bottle because the waiter was only to be seen once after and that was when he noticed me finish the bottle and ran over to sell me another... The empty bread basket sat on the table the whole time taking up very precious table real estate for no reason. When the second bottle of wine did arrive I was asked if we wanted fresh glasses, of course we do that goes without question really .... He brought ONE new glass for me but left my partner to drink out of his old glass... The best part was my old glass got to stay with us at the table for the rest of our meal like an awkward guest that no one wanted around. So to end, beside the good company of my partner there wasn't anything good that either of us could come up with about your place any longer. You burnt me in Tribeca a while back by selling me an $8 glass of tropicana that your waiter so carefully tried to hide in the corner to fill, the food has had a steady decline in quality and skill in its preparation the service is a joke and I understand its New York, I've lived here for 16 years... But your prices aren't "fair" $15 for basic French onion is offensive the same goes for 80% of the rest of your menu. You've lost the touch you once had, or your gimmick is getting tired. Fix it because there are a lot of contenders that will take your place and you will be quickly forgotten. But that's probably deserved because you forgot about us your customers that for 2 cost me $293 last night for diner food. Good bye.

    Avoid this Tourist Trap

To compare Landmarc Time Warner to a diner would be an insult to the many fine diners in and around the city. The bar watered down the drink I ordered. FYI...wine cannot be ordered by the glass. The wait staff encourages ordering 1/2 bottles by saying "you can take home what you don't drink". Same advice is given when food is ordered. The onion soup came with gluey cheese and a soggy crouton floating on top. The eggplant in the roasted vegetable sandwich was tough and had not been peeled before roasting. The pasta of the day was cold and the pesto was out of a jar. The service was dismissive. A simple lunch for two came to $80. My advice is to go have a more satisfying lunch for half that sum at one of the local diners

    Taste the Dynamic!!

I recently sat down to an unexpected surprise mid-lunch-shopping spree at Landmarc in the Time Warner Center mall. I was informed by our waiter that they had undergone a recent menu change and that my favorite "Octopus Salad" was no longer available. I opted for the reduced portion and figured; the heck with it! I ordered nearly one of every appetizer and side dish( leaving just enough room for my salad). What I got was a trip 1/2 way round the world accompanied by flavors Ive known my entire life. How about the day's fried vegetable(eggplant, onions, and sqash and such) in a succulent sweeet tomato sauce(?) FORget it! the taste nearly overpowered my Amarone! Medium rare skirt steak on a frise' salad with bleu cheese? MUAH! Veal cut nearly scallopini in an escarole and chickpea infusion? to me, Nearly redifined the word "ChickPea" entirely! The love continued dish after dish; side after side. Resulting ultimately in my octopus salad evolving into a new dish altogether and morphing into a culinary plethora of taste! I couldnt make it to dessert and a cappuccino; I jested to my assistant " Only if they could deliver it " Low and behold ; they can! Finishing my experience in the comfort of my own home!! VIOLA! I will definitely come back .

    Bye bye

the last time I went to landmarc the onion soup was very good. This time it was more than dreadful, the cheese turned into cement after 4 minutes and I had to try and cut it with a knife. This food is just plain overpriced. I tried a open face sandwich of eggplant, goat cheese and tomato. $13. As I walked home past the many pizza places on the UWS I knew a slice say from somewhere else, would've been heaven compared to the thing I was served. $28 plus tip $30+ for what? Never again. Bye bye landmarc.

    Really poor service/mediocre food

Didn't read the reviews before I went and was not surprised to now find all the complaints about the service. For these prices and the location in TW Center, the service is inexcusable. I don't care if the Host or waiters have attitudes, I'm not there to spend time with them. But, get your kitchen working properly. The steaks came very quickly after the salad and they just forgot about the side dishes. When i asked about them five minutes after the steaks came, the waiter shrugged and said he would check. When I found another waiter five minutes after that, He said he would check. 15 minutes after the steaks the side dishes finally came. So for 15 minutes, you sit there eating at slow pace, not wanting to finish before the sides and deciding whether to even accept them after a certain amount of time. Not a real pleasant dining experience. And the sides weren't that good, the mushroom were hard and dry. And the steak ordered medium had not even a hint of pink. The place is not worth it at all.

    Fool me once

I should have read the reviews. The service was beyond poor. Indeed, it was inexcusable. The front end staff and waiters were cold, impersonal, and disinterested. When asked for a recommendation, the waiter merely shrugged his shoulders. Moreover, our steaks were brought to the table about five minutes after the appetizers. I've heard of moving tables, but that's ridiculous. Steak was good, but everything else sucked!

Food is ok, but service is poor

I honestly come here and eat only the Caesar salad, the burger, and the dessert sampler. I don't feel that the prices on the entrées are warranted. The atmosphere is nice, the views are great, if you get a table near the window. The service is the big problem. The staff is cold, unwelcoming, phony (and not in a good way). Quite frankly, you are left hanging through out dinner. They make you feel like you are just another item that needs to be processed on an assembly line.
