Landmarc: A Winelover's Paradise
While the food is excellent at Landmarc (I recommend the goat cheese profiteroles and the exemplary hangar steak with green peppercorn sauce.) it is the wine list that sets this Tribeca newcomer apart from virtually any and all competition in its category (high-end bistro) The prices are outrageaously fair. The markup looks to be around 10%. For those of us who balk at purchasing wines the prices of which we know to be obscenely inflated, just to read the list is an exciting--yes, almost in THAT way-- event. Service is enthusiastic and prompt. I LOVE this restaurant, even if it is quite boisterious when full.

The most accomodating restaurant in town
It's got the trappings of a fancy restaurant--but yet they must have a "convenience manager" who dictates that they will: Call you on your cell phone when your table is ready. Allow you to wear jeans and not sneer behind your back. Let you order your kid a bowl of cereal. Let you get a small dessert for a small price, instead of an expensive mountain of dessert that you could never possibly finish. And most importantly--encourage you to get a very nice wine with your meal that costs not much more than it would for you get it yourself and So-and-So's Wine and Liquor. Plus, the mussels in dijonaisse sauce was the best thing I've had in New York (although the french onion soup was a bit sweet).

A Super Find !!
This new neighborhood restaurant is perfect - for either lunch or dinner. They have a grreat, affordable wine list to accompany interesting and tasty French and Italian dishes. What impressed us most about Landmarc was the cool, simple elegance of the surroundings as well as the kind, efficient and silent wait-staff. Best of all - - it does not cost a week's salary to dine there!!

A neighborhood delight!
They have managed to mix comfort and design in the most unique way. The food is excellent with very reasonable prices. The staff seems to be there when necessary- but never hovering over you. The wine list-superb!
